PROPERTY STOLEN.

Newton.— Between the 29th and 31st ultimo the shop of THOMAS CLARK, 33 Karangahape Road, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : Seven pairs gentlemen’s Bostock shoes ; six pairs gentlemen’s tan Bostock shoes; two pairs gentlemen’s patent-leather shoes ; two pairs boys’ glace-kid boots ; a pair of gentlemen’s heavy tan boots ; four pairs ladies’ glace-kid Bostock shoes with low heels ; a pair each of ladies’ black-satin slippers, black slippers with fur round tops, and camel-hair slippers ; a pair of gentlemen’s fur-lined black-leather Romeo slippers and two pairs camel-hair slippers ; a pair of ladies’ grey-suede Bostock shoes ; and £3 in money, &c. A number of the boots and shoes may be branded “ Made in England for T. Clark, Victoria Street, and 3 Lamps, Auckland,” in gold letters on ,nner sole : total value, £54 16s. Bd. Identifiable except money.

Newton. the Bth or 9th April last the workshop of RAYMOND THOMAS CRAIG, Highland Road, was broken into and a gentlemen’s silver wristlet watch (screw-on front, “R. T. Craig ” engraved on back) stolen therefrom ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Newton. April last, from a garage in Hopetoun Street, the property of BERNARD EADY, 26 Cooper Street, a gentlemen’s free-wheel Hercules bicycle, supposed No. 17749, black-enamelled with red lines, upturned handles with black grips, Hutchinson tires ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Auckland. — Between June, 1923, and March, 1926, the property of JOHN JAMES ERNEST STOKES, 16 Beresford Street, Newton, a -45 six-chambered Colt revolver, No. 128449 ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Auckland. 2nd February last, the property of HAROLD LIDDLE ELLIOTT, Kingsland Avenue, a pair of Avia fieldglasses, black-leather covering, thumb-screw focus, shadeslides at large ends, tan-leather case with shoulder-strap and green lining with “H. Elliott, Second Avenue, Kingsland,” on inside ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Auckland. — 15th ultimo, from the person of CLARENCE FUGILL, 7 O’Neill Street, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless hunting Waltham watch, No. 22831897 ; value, £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, fair complexion.

Auckland. —On the 16th or 17th ultimo the premises of the AUCKLAND CLUB, 34 Shortland Street, were broken into and £3B 15s. in money and a quantity of cigars, cigarettes, &c., stolen therefrom ; total value, £39 16s. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —Bth ultimo, from 19 Ranfurly Road, the property of ALICE EMMA CLARKE, a gold necklet (recovered), and a small flat gold bangle, similar to illustration No. 60 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 5, with chain effect on outside instead of engraving; total value, £7. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to McGuire, age about fifty, height oft. sin., domestic, slight build, sharp features ; dressed in a blue-serge coat with trimmings, light-grey skirt, and black or brown hat.

Onehunga. — On the Ist or 2nd instant the shop of VICTOR SPEIGHT, Queen Street, was broken into and the following stolen therefrom : Two gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless hunting Swiss watches, Nos. 1923773 and 1923775; four gentlemen’s rolled-gold snap-back open-face keyless Swiss watches, Lunett glass raised in centre, oval shape; six gentlemen’s snap-back open-face keyless Swiss nickel watches ; one silver and four nickel gentlemen’s open-face keyless watches, with Nuzeala on dial; a silver keyless hunting Waltham watch ; two gentlemen’s open-face eight-day Swiss nickel watches ; a ladies’ 9 ct. gold wristlet watch, No. 556717, octagon shape, frosted dial; two nickel watches with seven galloping horses on dial; an oval silver glove-mirror ; two plain silver cigarettecases ; a fancy engraved silver cigarette-case ; two silver-and-gold cigarette-cases with floral design engraved thereon ; a gentlemen’s rolled-gold curb watch-chain ; six fancy bone

necklaces ; two crystal necklaces ; one amethyst necklace ; twelve 9 ct. gold. birthday-rings ; a silver medal with blueenamel shield on front; three silver-plated serviette-rings ; six plain silver armlets ; a baby Tam-Tam alarm-clock with luminous figures ; two 9 ct. gold child’s armlets ; and twelve children’s silver bangles ; &c. : total value, about £IOO. Thames. 2Bth or 29th March last, from a boardinghouse in Mary Street, the property of EDWARD HUMPHREY, two £5 notes. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Hayward (name probably fictitious),' age about twentyeight, height about 5 ft. 5 in., supposed mechanic, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, scar on back of head ; dressed in a brownish-tweed suit, 1 jazz sweater, and tan shoes, no hat; bow-legged ; pigeon-toed ; walks with a limp. . .

Kirikiriroa. 23rd April last, from the Hill Crest Road, the property JAMES EDWARD O’NEIL, 11 Cook Street, Hamilton, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, half-hoop handles, rubber grips, John Bull tire on front wheel; value, £5. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. 2oth ultimo, from Egmont Street, the property of NORMAN BRACEGIRDLE, Smart Road, a gentlemen’s black-snamelled free-wheel Massey-Harris bicycle, turned-down handles with celluloid grips, Dominion tire on front wheel, Dunlop tire on back wheel; value, £B. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. —lsth ultimo, from the Workers’ Social Hall, Courtenay Street, the property of HONE RILEY, Moturoa, a gentlemen’s heavy navy-blue pilot-cloth overcoat, Prince shape, heavy tumed-down collar, double-breasted, double-lined on shoulders with blue cloth and black satin edged with black tape, “ Schneideman Bros., Christchurch,” on tag and a hemstitched white-silk scarf about 6 ft. long, with “ B.B.B.” on one comer : total value, £8 10s. Identifiable.

Hastings. On the 20th or 21st March last the premises of JAMES WEATHERHEAD, St. Aubyn Street, were broken into and two cases of James Bell’s whisky, six half-bottles of Highland Nectar whisky, and four bottles of beer stolen therefrom ; total value, £l4 10s. Not identifiable.

Palmerston North. —Between the 3rd and 17th ultimo, from a room at 119 College Street, the property of RUBY WELCH, a ladies’ gold open-face keyless Swiss wristlet watch, No. 44544, square shape ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. 2nd April last, from the Trocadero Hotel, the property of JOHN SPENCE, Tahora, Stratford, a brown wallet and £22 in money. Wallet only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Williams, age about thirty-three, height 5 ft. 3 in., slight build, sallow complexion ; dressed in a dark suit and felt hat.

Shannon. or 25th ultimo, from Cochrane’s garage, the property of MATHEW THOMAS BLYTH, Miranui, a -22 1906 model Winchester repeating-rifle, No- 472901, new barrel; value, £4 10s. Identifiable.

Kaikoura. —lst or 2nd instant, from the Club Hotel garage, the property of HAROLD FREDERICK ROBBINS, 110 Manchester Street, Christchurch, a gentlemen’s grey worsted suit; six gentlemen’s striped cotton shirts, may have “ Strongmor ” on neck-band ; a suit of white pyjamas with dark stripe, “ Strongmor ” on neck-band ; a dozen pairs of socks ; and twelve towels, &c. : total value, £2l 17s. 6d. Mostly identifiable.

Dunedin. l7th ultimo, from the shop of the Salisbury Butchery Company, Princes Street, the property of PHILLIP HENRY WEBB, a canvas bag containing £32 in money. Not identifiable except a yellow Bank of New Zealand 10s. note with “ V.I.C. Bank N.Z. Minton Derby, Ch. Ch., 1925,” written in ink on back.

Dunedin. — Ist ultimo, from the Grand Hotel, the property of ARTHUR ALBERT PAAPE, licensee, a gentlemen’s darkgreen single-breasted Burberry overcoat, large size, raglan sleeves which have been shortened, makers trade-mark on tab ; value, £l3 13e-. Identifiable. jW-23-<WG,
