PROPERTY STOLEN.

Helensville. 2nd December last, from a milking-shed at Wharepapa, the property of THOMAS STEWART, a gentlemen’s gold hunting Elgin watch, case slightly scratched; value, £7. Identifiable.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —Between the 11th and 17th ultimo, from the s.s. “ Wingatm,” between Lyttelton and Auckland, the property of the UNION STEAMSHIP COMPANY, five pairs of boys’ black Derby Globe boots with patent-leather toe-caps, No. 596” inside each boot ; and five pairs of boys’ black box Chrome Derby boots with patentleather toe-caps, “No. 588 ” inside each boot: total value, £6 15s. lOd. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On or about the 10th November last, from the s.s. “ Maunganui,” between Sydney and Auckland, the property of RAYMOND ELMS HIRD, 918 Nelson Street, Hastings, a gentlemen’s silver wristlet Omega watch, “ Omega made specially for S. 0. Garland, Hastings,” on dial, greyish leather wrist-strap attached ; and a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold ring, with “R.E.H.” engraved thereon: total value, £6. Identifiable.

Auckland. —18th ultimo, from a bathroom at 2 Domett Avenue, Epsom, the property of WALTER SHAW LANG, a ladies’ silver Swiss wristlet watch, No. 508064, luminous figures, tortoise-shell bracelet attached; value, £4 14s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —6th instant, from the Riverhead Hotel, Riverhead, the property of JOSEPH FREDERICK FROST, a Waterman fountain pen ; a silver cigarette-case, with “ J.E.F. 25/12/25 ” engraved thereon; a cheque, No. 2355, for £ls Os. 10d., on the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, dated Ist April, 1926, drawn by the Auckland Education Board : total value, £23 Os. lOd. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Robert Charles Dixon, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 5 in., driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair turning grey, blue eyes, portions of left fore, middle, and ring fingers missing, scar on each shin. Auckland. sth instant, the property of JOHN HENRY GILROY, 2 Thames Street, a gentlemen’s open keyless nickel watch ; and a 9 ct. gold beaded fetter watch-chain, with gold-mounted pendant of petrified wood attached: total value, £7. Identifiable.

Auckland. On or about the Ist ultimo, from a cabin on the s.s. “ Athenic,” between Southampton and Auckland, the property of LILY AGNES COOPER, Broadwood, Hokianga, a ladies 9 ct. gold wristlet watch, English figures, “ L.A.0.” on back of case, gold expanding bracelet attached ; value, £6. Identifiable.

Auckland. — February last, from a railway-carriage lavatory between Frankton Junction and Auckland, the property of KATHLEEN LEIGHTON, Henderson, a ladies’ gold open-face wristlet watch, No. 556805, blue numerals with red twelve, square case with “L.1325.A.K.” inside, black-silk band with gold clasp attached ; and a Nellie Stewart gold bangle : total value, £B. Identifiable.

Auckland. On or about the 10th ultimo, from a garage in Beach Road, Parnell, the property of WILLIAM JOHN RUSHTON, Waterloo Quadrant, a pair of brass acetylene head-lamps from a Sunbeam motor-car, one oil and one electric tail-light, two brass motor-pumps, seven ratchet motor-jacks, three motor-tires, and twelve 1-gallon tins of Mobile motor-oil; total value, £ls. Head-lamps only identifiable.

Parnell. — the Ist and 6th instant, from a building in Takutai Street, the property of ALECK McGREGOR, 41 Malvern Road, and others, a Disston panel-saw, a mortisegauge, a canvas bag, a set of bits, a 66 ft. steel tape, and a spirit-level, &c.; total value, £7 Is. Identifiable.

Otahuhu. —Between the 10th and 12th ultimo, from a motor-car in the yard of the Star Hotel, the property of CHARLES ARTHUR BLUETT, Dawson Street, Hamilton, a 12-bore double-barrelled breech-loading shot-gun, No. 6464, Oyez Arms Company, Liege, Belgium, makers ; a Ford tirepump ; and twelve C.A.C. “ Match Favourite ” cartridges, &c. : total value, £8 7s. Identifiable.

Arapuni. On the 27th or 28th February last, the property of ARMSTRONG, WHITWORTH, AND CO., a Sullivan pneumatic pick, No. 64988 ; value, £4B. Identifiable.

Taumarunui. —Between the 4th February, 1921, and June, 1924, the property of IVO HAROLD McLENNON, Halcombe, a -22 rim-fire revolver, No. 268930, H. and R. Arms Company, makers ; value, £l. Identifiable.

Wanganui. Between January and April, 1925, from the Wanganui College, the property of the WANGANUI COLLEGIATE SCHOOL, a -22-calibre B.S.A. rifle, No. 528033 ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Wanganui. —24th or 25th ultimo, from the Rutland Hotel, the property of MYRTLE HUGHES, a ladies’ ct. gold armlet, flat surface ; a 9 ct. gold pendant, pear shape, set with a green-coloured stone in centre, thin gold chain attached ; and 4s. in money : total value, £3 6s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Mavis Miles, alias Maria Miies, age about seventeen, height 5 ft., waitress, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, black hair, dark eyes, one leg withered, lame.

Hastings. 3oth or 31st ultimo, from a shed in Alexander Street, the property of DUDLEY NEWBIGIN, Ellison Road, an English-pattern riding-saddle, maker Land and Heighway, Hastings, “ D.N.” burned underneath stirrup-clip flap ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Palmerston North.— -22nd instant, from a bedroom a 20 North Street, the property of JENNY LOUISSON, a silver jewel-box with scroll round edge, pale-blue lining, may have “ J.L.” on lid ; a gold crescent brooch, set with about sixteen graduated diamonds in platinum setting; a flat-shaped brooch with spray of red roses in white setting, pin missing; a pair of earrings, set with cluster of diamonds in shape of a primrose ; a gold earring, set with coral; a gold neck-chain, with small pearl pendant attached ; a heavy gold granny neck-chain, with gold cross and medal attached ; and a gold ring, set with five opals in claw setting : total value, £lO3. Identifiable.

Featherston. 3rd instant, from the dwelling of ELLEN ROWE, Underhill Road, a £lO note and four £1 notes. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 2 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, supposed broken nose ; dressed in a blue-serge suit and grey-felt hat.

Mount Cook (Wellington). —Between the 19th and 22nd ultimo, from the shop at 76 Vivian Street, the property of LILIAN GILES, a ladies’ cinnamon-velour coat, brown beaver-coney fur on collar and cuffs, gold floral-art-silk lining, diamond-shaped-buckle fastener with mother-of-pearl centre ; value, £8 Bs. Identifiable.

Greymouth. —Between the 6th and Bth ultimo, in transit between Greymouth and Westport by rail, the property of A. STEELE, twelve pairs of gentlemen’s grey ribbed socks ; forty-five ladies’ hats, assorted models ; 52 yards white and 71 yards coloured flannelette ; two white marcella quilts ; five ladies’ silk overcoats ; two gentlemen’s gabardine overcoats ; and eighteen towels, &c. : total value, £95.
