Auckland. October last, from His Majesty’s Theatre, the property of EDWARD CHALMERS HUIE, Dyer’s Pass Road, Christchurch, a gentlemen’s pepper-and-salt overcoat, herring-bone pattern, -quarter-lined with grey silk, belt on back, “ H. 8.” brand on tab ; and a dark-blue scarf with white stripes : total value, £8 10s. Identifiable.

Putaruru. —3rd October last, from a hut at Tokoroa, the property of WILLIAM GALVIN, a gentlemen’s -tweed overcoat, belt at back, side pockets and breast-pocket on outside ; a white shirt with pink stripes, size 3 ; a white hair-comb ; a black camel-hair brush ; a blue necktie with white spots ; and £1 12s. 6d. in money : total value, £5 7s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Harold Firth, age twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, medium build, fresh complexion, very fair hair, broken twisted nose : dressed in a grey suit, light-felt hat, and tan shoes. Suspect was given the money to buy a pair of shoes for complainant, with whom he was working on the Forest-tree-planting Estate, but cleared out and failed to return the money. The other articles were taken without authority.

Gisborne. —On or about the 31st October last, from the Royal Hotel, the property of RODERICK GRACE, a gentlemen’s double-breasted black woollen overcoat, vent in back, large collar, large black buttons ; and a pair of gentlemen’s buckskin gloves : total value, £B. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Albert Bibby, alias Bert Collins, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 9 in., travelling photographer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair going bald, grey eyes, fern and snake on right forearm ; dressed in a brown suit and light-felt hat.
