Ponsonby. 2sth ultimo, that he may be compelled to maintain his wife, an inmate of Auckland Mental Hospital, Patrick James Foley, age thirty, height about 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion and hair, brown eyes, long nose ; walks on side of one foot, which is deformed.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —Patrick Joseph Gordon, ship-desertion. The following description of accused is now supplied by the Queen Street Wharf (Auckland) police : Age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., fireman, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, dark hair, brown eyes. Auckland. — 20th August last, on warrant for manslaughter, Colin McDonald, age about twenty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, seaman, and pugilist, native of New Zealand, good build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, pierced heart and “True Love on right forearm; a quarter-caste Maori; usually well dressed in a dark suit. In Victoria Street on above date accused caused the death of Andrew Soutter, fireman, by dealing him a blow which caused him to fall and fracture his skull. (Limited) over chattels comprised in an instrument of security by removing them from the place in which they were located, Frederick Fox, age fifty, height about 5 ft. 8 in., contractor, stout build, fair complexion, hair going bald, clean-shaved, full face ; dressed in a brown-twill suit, soft-felt hat, and wears a greenstone watch-chain. Te Aroha. — ultimo, on warrant for stealing from a hut at Waitoa, the property of Cornelius Clarke Cochrane, two £1 notes and a Sandersons camera, Sidney John Badanis, alias Davidson, age twenty-seven, height 6 ft. A in., labourer, native of England, slight build, sallow complexion, black hair, brown eyes, two bum-scars on left wrist; dressed in a blue-serge suit, heavy grey woollen overcoat, slate-coloured-felt hat with black band, and black patent-leather shoes. Palmerston North. —21st ultimo, on warrant for leaving New Zealand without making provision for the maintenance of his wife, Sadie Elizabeth Edmundson, 15 Oxford Street, and three children, Ernest Owen Edmundson, age thirty-three, height 6 ft. 4 in., traveller, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, fair hair turning grey, blue eyes, long thin hands, gold ring with “E. 0. Masterton. —29th October last, on warrant of commitment to Masterton Police-gaol for twenty-four hours in default of paying 13s. fine and costs for drunkenness, Stanley Anderson, alias Noel Stanley, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 6 J in., labourer, shearer, and slaughterman, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair and eyes, decayed front teeth, long face, mole on left side of neck, scar on left forefinger ; dressed in a brown suit and felt hat. Wellington.—llth September last, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Bessie Julia Haynes, 3 Tutchen Avenue, Henry Haynes, age forty-six, height about 5 ft., auctioneer and furniture-dealer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, black hair, blue-grey eyes, high cheekbones, small nose, when excited upper lip quivers, rubs thumbs and forefingers together; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and tan boots. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Wellington.

Wellington.—6th ultimo, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Norman Evans, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue-grey eyes, scar on right side ot forehead and on back of right hand.
