PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland. —Between the 16th September, 1924, and the 10th September last, on warrant for .forgery and uttering, Sana Fakir Kara, age, about forty, height oft. 8 in., hawker, native of India, medium build, black complexion and hair,

dark eyes, small black moustache ; dressed in brown trousers, dark coat and vest, and grey cap ; drives a horse and caravan, and hawks in the country districts; a Hindu. Accused forged a certain document of specifications for the building of a motor-body and attempted to cause Mr. Justice Alpers to act upon it as if it were genuine.

Auckland. —27th ultimo, that he may be compelled to maintain his illegitimate child (an inmate of Auckland Receiving Home), of whom Ada Everson is the mother, Charles Walton, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of Scotland, stout build, fair complexion, clean-shaved.

Auckland. — Ist September last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £l6 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Elsie Maude McMurray, 3 Maunsell Road, Parnell, William Frederick McMurray, alias W. J. Williams, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in., clerk and labourer, native of Wales, medium build, florid complexion, brown hair turning grey, brown eyes, broken front teeth; dressed in black trousers and navy-blue coat and vest. Arrears computed to 24th April last. Arrears to 25th September last, £6 12s.

Auckland. 2nd ultimo, on warrant for failing to.main tain his wife, Alice Moor, and three children, Henry Patrick Moor, alias Henry Charles James Muir, alias Adolphus Charles Williamson, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 8£ in., labourer, native of America, medium build, dark complexion, black hair and eyes, small scar on left forearm, scar on left foot and on right breast. Otahuhu. —12th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three days in default of paying £1 7s. fine and costs for failing to register under the Defence Act, Matthew Murphy, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of Ireland, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes ; scar on left side of upper lip, right middle finger nail injured; clasped hands, ship, lighthouse, “Homeward bound,” and woman’s bust on right forearm woman and sailor’s bust on left forearm. Huntly. 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering* George Wilson (name probably fictitious), age about fortyseven, height about 5 ft. 9 in., advertising agent, native of England, stout build, bloated complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, full round face, large inflamed pimply nose ; dressed in blue trousers, grey-tweed sport’s coat, and fawn soft-felt hat; dirty, drunken appearance; slightly lame. Accused forged the signature .of T. Furness, garage-proprietor, Huntly, to a cheque for £2, and uttered it to Edgar Henry Durrad, hotelkeeper, Huntly. There are other charges of false pretences pending (accused having represented to several business people that he was an advertising agent and received deposits of £1 each from them, stating that the advertisements would be exhibited in & cabinet in. Taneatua. —22nd July last, on three warrants of commitment to Gisborne Prison for seven days on each in default of paying £lO 4s. 9d. fines and costs for breaches of his prohibition order, Horacio Acosta, alias Martin, age thirty, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of Argentine, medium build, sallow complexion, black hair, brown eyes, pock-pitted face, scars on each cheek, on forehead, and on right temple; “ W.M.” and fern on right forearm ; usually lives with Maoris ; speaks broken English. Matamata. —26th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a briefbag (recovered), two £5 notes, a pair of gentlemen’s black shoes (size 7), a Schafer fountain pen, a striped shirt, a blueserge vest, and a soft collar and bow tie, total value £l6 55., identifiable except money, the property of Frank Geraghty, Te Poi, Bert Campbell, age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer and carter, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, brown hair brushed back, brown eyes ; dressed in a blue-serge suit, grey-tweed overcoat, black shoes, cream-coloured socks, soft collar, and bow tie (no hat). He is supposed to be identical with Robert James Cantell, referred to in' Police Gazette, 1925-page 585. On or'about the 30th September last, on warrant for theft of a saddle and bridle (recovered), value £5, the property of William Horne Hargreaves Young, Makahu, Walter Ward, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of New' Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, small birth-mark on right forearm, muscles at back of right knee contracted ; slow speech ; plausible manner. Accused, who arranged to purchase a horse for £6 from Alexander Franks, was allowed to take the horse for trial and disappeared. The saddle and bridle, which was the property of William Home Hargreaves Young, has since been recovered by the Inglewood police. He may be identical with Percy Lewis Ward, alias Jones, referred to in Police Gazette, 1925, pages 288 and 316.

Napier. —l6th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his illegitimate child, of whom Elizabeth Alexandra McMullan is the mother, Raymond O’Neil, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 5 in., hospital porter, native of New Zealand, thin build, dark complexion and hair, brown eyes, crooked nose, bad teeth, clean-shaved. Patea. —17th ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-one, height 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark complexion, hair, and eyes, very white teeth (probably artificial); dressed in a dark suit, dark-felt hat, and dark-tweed overcoat. Accused forged the signature of Robert Sutherland Scown, farmer, Manutahi, to a cheque for £lO, and uttered it to Frederick Henry Ramsbottom, Patea Butchery Company. Wanganui. —l4th September last, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Henry Marshall Kelly, alias Henry Kelly Marshall, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer, Maori, good build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes. Porangahau. —lsth ultimo, on warrant for theft of a horse, saddle, and bridle (recovered), value £22 155., the property of Job Bond, farmer, Ti-tree Point, John Henry Wall, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and fireman, native of Australia, strong build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes ; woman, lion, heart, and clasped hands on right forearm ; woman, eagle, American flag, and “ Sailor’s dream ” on left forearm ; tip of one little finger missing; dressed in shabby greyish-brown trousers and light-grey cap; pleasant manner; fond of drink.
