Whangarei.— On the 3rd or 4th instant the dwelling of * GEORGE CAREY, Walton Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom: A ladies’ 15 ct. gold ring, set with five diamonds in claw setting; a 15 ct. gold bracelet, imitation buckle, safety,chain attached ; a gold bar brooch made with two sovereigns ; . a brown-leather suit-case, with “H. 8.” in black letters thereon ; a gentlemen’s navy-blue suit; a set of engineer’s drawing instruments ; an Auckland ■•'Post "Office Savings-bank book in name of Rupert John Hooper ; and a number of shirts, &c. : total value, £sl 10s. Identifiable.

KITCHING, Mititai, a leather Gladstone bag, with “ C.P.T.” scratched on metal plate on outside, containing five pairs of ladies’ bloomers, two singlets, two pairs stockings, an ebony-backed mirror, a clothes-brush, a hair-brush and comb, a pair of black-suede shoes, a pair of slippers, a brown dress, a black-and-white-check dress, a brooch, &c., and 13s. 6d. in money ; total value, £6. Identifiable except money.

Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Walter Leonard Cooper, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 5 in., miner, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes.
