(portion recovered), John Buckley, alias Herbert Leslie Buckley, alias Thompson, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 6 in., painter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion and hair, grey eyes, right little finger stiff, scar over left eye, on left foot, on tip of right forefinger, and on right little finger ; dressed in a blue suit and felt hat and fancy Cardigan jacket. Pukekohe. — May last, on warrant for theft of £1 7s. 2d., the property of Joseph Henry, storekeeper, Sid Fieldhouse, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and carter, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, liu-ht-blue eyes ; usually dressed in a grey suit; stooped shoulders ; talks a lot about Canada. Offender was employed by the complainant and collected the money on behalf of his employer, but failed to account for same. ✓

Anderson (name probably fictitious), false pretences : It has been ascertained by the Hamilton police that accused is not identical with Richard Edward Ellis, alias Victor William Edward Ellis, referred to in Police Gazette, 1925, page 474, and Photographs, 1923, page 9. Rotorua.27th June last, for obtaining goods and money value £5 15s. by means of a valueless oheque for that amount from Annie Macmillan, draper, Arawa Street, E. Brownlie, alias A. Watson, alias E. Brown, alias Lionel Edward Senior, age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, fresh complexion ; dressed in a navy-blue or grey suit and greyfelt hat. No Warrant.
