PERSONS WANTED.

Devonport. —Bth ultimo, on warrant for theft of £6 ss. l|d., the property of John McGregor, baker, Victoria Road, James Stanley Jansen, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., motordriver, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved ; dressed in a light-grey-tweed suit and soft black hat. He may be accompanied by Iris Black, age twenty, height about 5 ft. 4 in., medium build, pale complexion, fair buster-cut hair, blue eyes, round face ; dressed in a fawn costume or nigger-brown dress and a tan overcoat or a mole-coloured overcoat trimmed with Astrakhan, suede shoes, black stockings, and a black-satin or mole-coloured velour hat. Accused, who was employed by complainant to deliver bread, received the amount on terms requiring him to account for it to his employer, but he fraudulently omitted to do so. There are other charges pending. He may attempt to leave this Dominion.

Auckland.— instant, that he may be compelled to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his son, Albert Henry Broughton, age about fortyeight, height 5 ft. 6 in., painter, slight build, dark complexion, hazel eyes, pug-nose, dark heavy moustache, arms tattooed ; usually dressed in a blue-serge suit; fond of drink. Auckland. —Between the 15th July and the 4th October last, on warrant for false pretences, Seymour Richard, age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. in., canvasser, stout build, dark complexion, black hair brushed back, brown eyes, clean-shaved, slightly stooped ; usually dressed in a darktweed suit and felt hat; slovenly appearance ; fond of drink. Accused, who was employed as canvasser by Dimond and Hart (Limited), photograph-enlargers, 3 Upper Vincent Street, obtained £l2 Os. 4id. as commission from his employers by falsely representing that he had received orders for enlargements from Mrs. A. Blades, 340 Mount Eden Road, and others.

Auckland. —24th ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Dorothy Howes, Harold Frederick Howes, age thirty, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of England, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, thin lips ; well dressed in a light -coloured suit. - - _ »

Papakura.—3rd February last, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Josephus Fisher, age twenty-two, height Oft. 1 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, curly fair hair, hazel eyes, clean-shaved long prominent nose, scald-scar on neck ; usually dressed in a dark-grey suit and soft-felt hat. Otaki. —2nd instant, that he may be compelled to maintain his wife, Elizabeth Higgins, and child, Charles John Higgins, age forty-live, height 5 ft. 7| in., fireman, native of England, strong build, fair complexion, red hair, blue eyes, scar on left cheek, “In Remembrance of my dear Mother ” on each arm ; usually dressed in a light suit. He may assume the name John White. He was employed on the s.s. “ Port Sydney ” in April, 1924.

Pahiatua. — lsth ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Roy William Thompson (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., medium build, fair hair, blue eyes ; dressed in a brown suit, tan boots, and brown-tweed overcoat; speaks with a noticeable twang, and uses the word “ she ” for “it ” ; very talkative and plausible. Accused obtained a pair of boots, value £1 12s. Gd., and £9 12s. cash from Hannah and Co., boot-merchants, by means of a valueless cheque for £ll ss. He is identical with man of same name referred to in Police Gazette, 1925, page 248, and the Photograph of Richard Edward Ellis, alias Victor William Edward Ellis, referred to in Police Gazette, 1924, page 694, and Photographs, 1923, page 9>has been identified as that of accused. kV

Wellington. —29th ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Electra Stavroudi,” John CaligheriS, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 4 in., native of Greece, good build, fair hair, greenish eyes ; dressed in a dark suit and felt hat with wide brim ; cannot speak English. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Wellington. A/reward of £5 is offered for his arrest. / 2^;s'

Wellington. 29th ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Electra Stavroudi,” Nicolas Damoulakis, age twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., steward, native of Greece, medium build, dark straight hair, dark eyes, Roman nose, clean-shaved; dressed in a dark suit and felt hat which he wears on side of head ; speaks very little English. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Wellington. A reward of £5 is offered for his arrest. /)/? -n . / /

Christchurch. —2Bth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Elizabeth Bull, 8 Walker Street, Arthur Bull, age forty-six, height 5 ft. if- in., music vendor and teacher, native of England, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar on chin. Christchurch. — instant, that he may be compelled to pay £75 10s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his child, an inmate of an industrial school, Thomas Codings, age sixty-five, height 5 ft. 7| in., engineer and bootmaker, native of England, dark complexion, grey hair and eyes, scar on back of right hand and between right thumb and forefinger, varicose vein in left leg. Christchurch. —28th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his children, Alfred Victor Smith, age thirty-one, height about 5 ft. 8 in., motor mechanic, electrician, and taxidriver, native of New Zealand, fair complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, prominent nose, clean-shaved, upper teeth artificial. Arrears to 17tlv March last/£47 4s.

Christchurch. 22nd January last, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for two months in default of paying £369 10s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Emily Charlotte Hewitt, Edward Barnes Hewitt, age forty-three, height about 5 ft* 6 in., fitter' and turner, native of England, strong build, dark complexion and hair, clean-shaved : usually dressed in a dark suit ; fond of drink and horse-racing. Arrears computed to 7th July, 1924,

Dunedin. 27th ultimo, for indecent exposure, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, dark complexion and hair ; dressed in a light-grey Harris-tweed suit, dark-grey overcoat, and dark soft hat. About 9.30 p.m. on above date accused indecently exposed himself within the view of Mary Dick, 97 Rockhampton Court. No warrant.

Port Chalmers. instant, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Raranga,” Morris Fitzgerald, age twenty height 5 ft. 5 in., trimmer, native of Ireland, slight build, fresh complexion, curly brown hair ; dressed in a browntweed suit and grey-tweed cap.
