Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). On or about January last, from the Queen’s Wharf, the property of the AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD, a white-canvas tarpaulin, 18 ft, by 16 ft., “ A.H.8.” on each comer and number “ 86 ’* on it ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On the 25th or 26th ultimo the shop of ROBERT AVERY and JOHN MEARNS, grocers, at the junction of Patterson Street and Edendale Road was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : Eight 6 lb. bags of Champion flour, six tins of Unification brand salmon, six tins of Rupert brand salmon, and a quantity of tobacco ; total value, £3 10s. Auckland. —Between the 17th and the 24th February last, from a bedroom at 8 Exmouth Street, the property of ETHEL MARY HUNT, a jumper (recovered), and a ladies’ gold thin-band crossover dress-ring, set with two diamonds and a ruby between each, in claw setting ; total value, £ll 15s. Identifiable.

Auckland. — March last, from the premises of MILNE AND CHOYCE, drapers, Queen Street, a grey georgette-and-lace frock, wide-coloured band around waist, long lace sleeves, lace around bottom, long tie from neck knotted at waist; value, £8 17s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Woman (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 4 in., medium build, dark hair. Suspect, who was wearing the above-described frock and a velvet hat, was a passenger on the Thames express on the 16th March last and left the train at Pukekohe.

Masterton. —Between the Ist and sth March last, from a dwelling at Mangamahoe, the property of JA M E CHRISTOPHER COOPER, farmer, Cole Street, a 410/44calibre single-barrel shot-gun, No. A 35452, makers Harrington and Richardson Arms Company, U.S.A. ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Eketahuna.— On the 29th ultimo the whare of GODFREY CARLSON at Haunui was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A small brief-bag, containing a Post Office Savings-bank book, No. 473751, issued at Wellington in complainant’s name, a cheque for £l3 10s. in favour of G. Carlson, issued by Eketahuna County Council, and signed “F. Cowlam, County Clerk ” ; and £l6 10s. in notes, including a torn £5 note on the Bank of New Zealand. Identifiable except money. .

Blenheim. — ultimo, from the Masonic Hotel, the property of CECIL COLIN POWELL, 18 Victoria Street, Wellington, a suit-case with “ Powell ” on inside ; a lightblue suit; several white collars, size 15£, with “ Powell ” on them ; several soft white striped shirts ; several pairs of fancy socks; a suit of pyjamas ; a Bengal razor and shaving-outfit; and a set of hair-brushes : total value, £3O. Invercargill. On the 18th ultimo the dwelling of ARTHUR BRIAN HAGGITT, Kelvin Road, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A gold bar brooch, set with an aquamarine in centre and a small pearl on each side ; a plain gold band ring, set with three small moonstones in claw setting ; a gold open-face Baume expanding wristlet watch, No. 448348, white dial, black Roman numerals, «* Joyce Haggitt ” on back ; a silver manicure-set in a dark-green-leather case ; and a small silk purse containing about 25.: total value, £l3.
