PROPERTY STOLEN.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). On or about January last, from the Queen’s Wharf, the property of the AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD, a white-canvas tarpaulin, 18 ft, by 16 ft., “ A.H.8.” on each comer and number “ 86 ’* on it ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Auckland. — ultimo, while in the bar of the Waverley Hotel, the property of JOHN ROBERT CAREY, labourer, 22 Walter’s Road, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold double-case Elgin watch, No. 4943457, black hands ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Auckland. On the 22nd ultimo the shop of ALFRED ERNEST GIFFORD, tailor, 49 Sarsfield Street, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : Forty yards of black pin-head or black worsted cloth; value, £47. Not identifiable. , f

Auckland. — the 11th and 14th ultimo the premises of the MOTOR REPLACEMENTS (LIMITED) in Gittos Street were broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A 1913 model 4£ horse-power B.S.A. motorbicycle, engine number 8278, reg. No. N.Z. 14870, heavily nickelplated, three-speed gear-box ; a 1919 model Indian motorbicycle, engine number 83 M. 576, No. H.N. 775, with gas-light fittings; a four-cylinder Bosch magneto, phosphor-bronze base (dented); and a single -cylinder National magneto with aluminium sides and black magnets total value, £73. Identifiable. < -

Auckland.— the 19th or 20th ultimo the premises of the TWIGG ENGINEERING COMPANY, Daldy Street, were broken into and the following stolen therefrom : A Dixie magneto for a four-cylinder marine engine, impulse starter, painted khaki ; value, £l2 10s. Identification doubtful.

Auckland. —On the 25th or 26th ultimo the shop of ROBERT AVERY and JOHN MEARNS, grocers, at the junction of Patterson Street and Edendale Road was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : Eight 6 lb. bags of Champion flour, six tins of Unification brand salmon, six tins of Rupert brand salmon, and a quantity of tobacco ; total value, £3 10s. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 17th and the 24th February last, from a bedroom at 8 Exmouth Street, the property of ETHEL MARY HUNT, a jumper (recovered), and a ladies’ gold thin-band crossover dress-ring, set with two diamonds and a ruby between each, in claw setting ; total value, £ll 15s. Identifiable.

Auckland. — March last, from the premises of MILNE AND CHOYCE, drapers, Queen Street, a grey georgette-and-lace frock, wide-coloured band around waist, long lace sleeves, lace around bottom, long tie from neck knotted at waist; value, £8 17s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Woman (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 4 in., medium build, dark hair. Suspect, who was wearing the above-described frock and a velvet hat, was a passenger on the Thames express on the 16th March last and left the train at Pukekohe.

ARAruNi. l3th or 14th ultimo, from the dwelling of JOHN SUTHERLAND, hydro-electric works, two £lO notes and five £5 notes. Not identifiable.

Arapuni. —27th or 28th March last, from the dwelling of WILLIAM ROBB, hydro-electric works, a silver huntingwatch, silver dial, gold hands, Roman numerals engraved case with gold ring in centre, W. Robb, 1914,” on inside of case ; value, £2. Identifiable.

Arapuni. l3th ultimo, from a motor - bus between Putaruru and Arapuni, the property of THOMAS EVANS, hydro-electric works, a small leather brief-bag, containing a Post Office Savings-bank book, No. 7112, issued at Hamilton, and showing a credit of £400; two razors ; a razor-strop ; a shaving-brush, hair-brush, and boot-brushes ; and a wallet containing photos, &c. : total value, £3. Identifiable.

Te Kuiti. —Between 30th June and the 17th March last from a whare at Arapae, the property of HENRY WANKLIN, farmer, an 1889 model '22-calibre single-shot Winchester rifle ; value, £1 10s. Identifiable.

Manaia. — On the 25th ultimo the dwelling of CHING SHEEN CHONG, grocer, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A £5 note ; forty £1 notes ; twenty 10s. notes ; £8 in silver; an open cheque for £3, No. 752839, on the Bank of New Zealand, Manaia, payable to Mrs. Aka or bearer, and signed “F. Mourie ” ; a cheque for £1 ss. 5d., signed “ E. Hawkins, per Waimate Plains Dairy Company,” in favour of Mrs. E. Borrie or order ; a cheque for 19s 6d., signed “ Stratton,” in favour of B. Duncan ; and several other cheques : Aotal value, £73. Chernies only identifiable.

Feilding. —l3th ultimo, from the saleyards in Warwick Street, the property of WILLIAM HOOPER, 18 North Street, a bay pony mare, about six years, 14 hands, white hind socks, broad nose, dark points ; an old riding-saddle sewn with copper wire ; and a bridle with a new piece on one rein : total value, £25. Identifiable.

Masterton. —Between the Ist and sth March last, from a dwelling at Mangamahoe, the property of JA M E CHRISTOPHER COOPER, farmer, Cole Street, a 410/44calibre single-barrel shot-gun, No. A 35452, makers Harrington and Richardson Arms Company, U.S.A. ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Eketahuna.— On the 29th ultimo the whare of GODFREY CARLSON at Haunui was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A small brief-bag, containing a Post Office Savings-bank book, No. 473751, issued at Wellington in complainant’s name, a cheque for £l3 10s. in favour of G. Carlson, issued by Eketahuna County Council, and signed “F. Cowlam, County Clerk ” ; and £l6 10s. in notes, including a torn £5 note on the Bank of New Zealand. Identifiable except money. .

Blenheim. — ultimo, from the Masonic Hotel, the property of CECIL COLIN POWELL, 18 Victoria Street, Wellington, a suit-case with “ Powell ” on inside ; a lightblue suit; several white collars, size 15£, with “ Powell ” on them ; several soft white striped shirts ; several pairs of fancy socks; a suit of pyjamas ; a Bengal razor and shaving-outfit; and a set of hair-brushes : total value, £3O. Identifiable.

Havelock. l3th ultimo, from clothing in a dressing-room at Brownlie Park, the property of IVAN GEORGE JARVIS, labourer, Canvastown, a red pocket-book, containing a cheque for £2 165., a cheque for £3, four £1 notes, and £1 in silver; total value, £ls 16s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to a iVtan (name unknown), age about twentyone, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes ; dressed in a brown suit, soft collar, and shabby Dr. Jim hat. He cashed the cheques in local business houses. -• •

Invercargill. 27th March last, from Wright, Stevenson, and" Co.’s -store, the property of WILLIAM HENRY HENDERSON, 27 Nelson Street, a gentlemen’s metal openface keyless Omega watch, No. 4334633, “ Dewe, Wanganui,” on dial; value, £3. Identifiable.

Invercargill. On the 18th ultimo the dwelling of ARTHUR BRIAN HAGGITT, Kelvin Road, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A gold bar brooch, set with an aquamarine in centre and a small pearl on each side ; a plain gold band ring, set with three small moonstones in claw setting ; a gold open-face Baume expanding wristlet watch, No. 448348, white dial, black Roman numerals, «* Joyce Haggitt ” on back ; a silver manicure-set in a dark-green-leather case ; and a small silk purse containing about 25.: total value, £l3. Identifiable except money.
