J. Scott, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and lineman, native of New Zealand, medium build, tanned complexion ; usually dressed in a blue-serge suit; fond of drink. Maori fluently, and lives with a Maori woman na/ied Lena Pera.

Putarurtt.— l2th instant, on warrant for being drunk and disorderly and resisting police, Bernard Byrne, age twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and seaman, native of Scotland, strong build, fair complexion, curly fair hair, blue eyes, high cheek-bones, large mouth ; dressed in a brown suit and light-coloured cap.

Gisborne. — 1 8th instant, on warrant for attempted rape, Man (name unknown),, age about twenty-three, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair brushed back ; dressed in a dark-grey suit and grey soft-felt hat. Accused enticed Margaret Stevenson, age thirteen, to a vacant section, where he committed the offence.

Waikoa. —llth October last, on v.' arrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Jessie May O’Donoghue, William Cornelius O’Donoghue, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 91 in., carpenter and barman, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, full round face ; usually dressed in a grey suit and soft-felt hat ; fond of drink. Dannevirke. —17th instant, on warrant for false pretences, Athol Joseph Reeve Sutherland, alias Frank Stanley Reid, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 10 in., clerk, native of Australia, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; dressed in grey trousers and green Norfolk coat. Accused obtained £4 10s. from Sydney Andrews, hotelkeeper, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount on the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton. Palmerston North. — instant, that proceedings for failing to render personal service under the Defence Act may be instituted against him, George Williamson or Williams, age twenty, height 5 ft. 9 in., painter, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion', wavy fair hair; usually well dressed in a light-grey suit and light-coloured-felt hat.

Lower Hutt. —31st October last, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), Leslie Clarence Buckingham, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 6 in., Seaman and grocer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, two small scars on right thigh ; usually dressed in a light-grey suit and cap. His return to the nearest prison is desired. His period of probation expires on the 27th April, 1925, after which no action is to be taken against him. Wellington. On or about 22nd ultimo, on warrant for theft of a motor-bicycle (recovered), value £lO5, the property of Emil Rodgers, 157 Willis Street, W. C. Walker, age twentythree, height 5 ft. 9 in., steward and motor mechanic, native of England, medium build; complexion ; dressed in a dark suit, Cardigan jacket. About five months ago demised paicL*, deposit of £2O" and obtained the motor-bicycle on the fhjfic-p urchase system, subsequently paying an instalment of £lO/leaving a balance of £75. On or about the 22nd ultimo he sold the article to a man named Bowers at Trentham, and disappeared.

Greymouth. —l9th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Leonard Marsh Dando, alias Leonard Marsh, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. 51 in., carpenter, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, curly dark hair, brown eyes. Christchurch. —Bth July last, on warrant for failing to maintain bis child, Olive Grace Ellis, Nicholas White Ellis, age about thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., electrical engineer, medium build, pale complexion, light-brown hair, prominent ears ; fond of drink. Christchurch. —17th instant, on warrant for theft of £SO, the property of Angus Shaw, labourer, Alexander Thompson, alias Thomson, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, long brown hair, blue eyes, sharp features, scar on chin and on left shin ; dressed in a blue-serge suit, light-coloured velour hat, and brown shoes ; fond of drink and horse - racing. Accused, who was given by complainant a £SO note to take care of, purchased a suit of clothes for £lO, received three £lO notes and ten £1 notes as change, and disappeared.
