Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —10th ultimo, from a cabin on the s.s. “ Makura,” the property of DR. LEWIS EASTLAKE, Grand Hotel, a gentlemen’s 18 ct. gold hunting keyless chronometer watch, No. 4520, maker James Picard, with weekly and monthly calendars and phases of moon on dial, split hour, minute, and second hands, set with diamonds ; a 14 ct. gold watch-chain, about 10 in. long, composed of a long twisted link of three strands and three or four curb links alternately, with a swivel at one end and a button in the form of a shamrock on the other end ; total value, £405. Identification doubtful. Suspicion is attached to James Denny, age about fifty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., kitchenman, medium build, fair complexion, grey eyes, wrinkled face, clean-shaved.

Frankton Junction. 7th ultimo, from a room at the railway-station, the property of THOMAS KIRK BEY, porter, a gentlemen’s silver English lever watch, with a watch-key fastened to top ring; value, £5. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 6 in., slight build, dark complexion and eyes, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blue suit and felt hat.

Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty-three, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, dark complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a dark-grey suit and black-felt hat. He cashed the cheque at Timaru.
