Unidentified Body.

Christchurch. The above is a photograph of a Man who was found dead on the 12th ultimo in a vacant section in Hereford Street. Description : Age about sixty, height about 5 ft. 3 in., medium build, small abrasions on right leg near hip, and knee, and on left ankle ; small circular scar on inner side of left knee, skin over upper part of breast-bone near junction of collar-bones, hard and dry, As if subjected to

recent burns, similar small lesions above forehead, cleanshaved except grey moustache, brown hair turning grey and bald in front, artificial teeth, left upper lateral incisor broken off, right upper molar missing, ruptured on both sides (which was controlled by a double truss), small wart on right nipple ; dressed in a dark-tweed suit, black boots, blue soft shirt, light woollen singlet, white -lined woollen underpants, grey socks, narrow black tie, and brown-felt hat. The clothing contained £2 4s. 3d., a rolled-gold watch-chain, a silver watch, No. 2251438 over 5596, stamped “Henry & Co., London.” At an inquest the following verdict was returned : “ Death resulted from heart-failure, due to atheroma and chronic myocarditis.” Any information regarding the identity of deceased is to be communicated to the Inspector of Police, Christchurch. On the 30th September last premises used as a restaurant and occupied by Thomas Sunde were partially destroyed by fire. • The Coroner held an inquiry and found that the fire was deliberately caused by some person.
