Additional Treasury Regulations. (See New Zealand Gazette, 1923, page 2809.) JELLICOE, Governor-General. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 7th day of November, 1923. Present: The Honourable Sir F. H. D. Bell, G.C.M.G., K.C., presiding in Council. IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by section three of the Public Revenues Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulation in addition to the Treasury Regulations made on the twenty-third day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and gazetted on the eighth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty : and doth direct that the regulation hereby made shall form part of and be read with the aforesaid regulations, and shall come into force on the date of gazetting thereof.

: REGULATION. 111. Cheques to be drawn with Care. j 87a. Officers when drawing cheques must exercise care to obviate the possibility of fraudulent manipulation. Sums expressed in figures and words must be written as near the left-hand margin as possible. There should be no blank spaces between the money symbols and the words and figures representing the amount of the cheque, and lines should be drawn between so that additions to the amount cannot be made. Cheque-books, when not in use, must be kept securely locked up.
