Whangarei.- ultimo, from a motor-car, the property of GERALD MERVIN PURCHASE, 208 Remuera Road, Auckland, a Gladstone bag, “ G.H.P.” believed to be on one side ; a brown suit, size 6 ; a suit of white or cream and a suit of mole-striped flannelette pyjamas ; three coloured shirts; eighteen handkerchiefs, with “G. M. Purchase ”on each; a dozen white and coloured collars, size 15 J ; six pairs of black and blue socks; a pair of tan brogue shoes, size 8 ; an Auto safety razor and strop ; and a quantity of stationery and Norwich Union Insurance pamphlets : total value, £25. Auckland. — 23rd ultimo, from the warehouse of HOPE GIBBONS, 151 Albert Street, £8 Bs. in notes and silver. Suspicion is attached to Raymond Edgar Farranf. age seventeen, height 5 ft. 4£ in., motor salesman, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes. He has been interviewed, brit .no evidence resulted.. 2//7A/
Auckland.— 22nd September last, from a bedroom at the Commercial Hotel, the property of ADAM HORNE WILSON, bank-manager, Thames, a gentlemen’s light-brown-gabardine overcoat with green-and-blue-check lining, slant pockets; a brown-leather brief-bag with split handle, with patent lock ; three white shirts with black stripes, size 17 ; a probate of will of John Wilson ; conveyance, J. W. Poulgrain to Mrs. Margaret Wilson, No. 275473 ; copies of plans of property at Tararu ; and several letters re valuation : total value, £l2 10s. Identifiable.
Auckland. 24th ultimo, from FRANK AUGUST DELGROSSO’S coal and firewood yard at 54 John Street, a quantity of coal,' coke, and firewood ; and a green-canvas motor-lorry cover, 16 ft. by 16 ft. (two eyelets missing) : total value, £5 17s. Bd. Cover only identifiable.
Auckland. —23rd ultimo, from a motor-car in Vulcan Lane, the property of MURRIE SPIERS, land agent, a portable Decca phonograph ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Auckland.— 4th September last, from the Queen’s Cafe, Grey Street, the property of DORIS BREWSTER, 176 Victoria Street, a 9 ct. gold engagement-ring, set with four diamonds and three sapphires in claw setting; value, £l4. Identifiable.
Auckland. —Between the 4th and sth ultimo the premises of SARAH HAMPTON (Madame Ray), milliner, 22 Peary Road, were broken into, and the following hats stolen therefrom : A royal-blue cire hat, Oriental colour on crown, green beads on edge : a navy-blue hat, silk crown with flowers on it, lace brim; a peacock-blue cire-silk hat, cerise stitching on brim and two hats not described : .total value, £7 16s. Identifiable.
Auckland.— On the 11th ultimo the shop of WILLIAM ARTHUR HULSTON, hairdresser and tobacconist, was broken into and a quantity of cigarettes of various brands stolen therefrom ; total value, £l4O. Not identifiable.
Auckland. —Between the 16th and 22nd July last, from the dwelling of THOMAS McNAB, 66 Esplanade Road, a gold engagement-ring, set with five diamonds, one diamond of different shade from others ; value, £l9 10s. Identifiable.
Auckland. Between the Bth and 10th August last, from a dwelling in Richardson Road, the property of GRACE MURRELL WHITE, domestic, 4 MacDonald Street, a gold ring, set with nine diamonds on a bar, “ 21 ” or “ 28/9/21 ” on inside ; and an oval cameo ring with green setting : total value, £l6 ss. Identifiable.
Te Aroha. — On or about the 30th ultimo the premises of HETHERINGTON LIMITED, drapers, in Whitaker Street were broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : A slate-coloured-check Kaiapoi rug ; a light-grey sports suit, size 4 ; a navy-blue-serge coat and vest, size 4 ; and a brownvulcanite suit-case, 24 in. by 14 in. : total value, £ls 2s. 6d. Identifiable.
Takapau. JOHN SWENSON’S and ARTHUR SAUNDER’S premises broken into: The suspect, John Rock, has been interviewed by the Wellington police, but no evidence resulted. He was also interviewed in reference to breaking into Otane Railway-station without result. (See Police Gazette, 1922, pages 164 and 286.)
Carterton. — Between the 21st and 26th September last, from the shop of KELLET AND GILL, motor engineers, High Street, a 6-volt 7-ampere dynamo, 6 in. by 4 in., with a brass bracket attached ; value, £l2. Identifiable.
Wellington.— On or about the 17th ultimo, from a safe in the Caledonian Hotel, the property of EDWARD IVORY, licensee, eight £5 notes, a £lO note, and eighteen £1 notes; total value, £6B. Not identifiable.
Waikari.— 2lst ultimo, from the Hurunui School, the property of FRANCIS COSTELLO, farmer, The Peake, a gentlemen’s greenish-grey double-breasted heavy-tweed overcoat with black-cloth lining, belt at back; and a fawn-felt hat, size 7J, with “ Made for H. 8., Christchurch,” on inside : total value, £6. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —l7th August last, from the Public Library, the property of REGINALD CHARLES HOGG, 168 Bordesley Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Triumph bicycle, No. 1401, Popular saddle; value, £4 10s. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —llth August last, from outside the Bank of New Zealand, the property of R. K. H. NEVILLE, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 398; value, £5. Identifiable.
Christchurch. 2lst July last, from outside the Occidental Hotel, the property of GEORGE HENRY HORSFALL, 105 River Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, No. 10593 ; value, £6. Identifiable.
Dunedin.— WlLLlAM McCONNELL’S shop broken into : Suspicion is attached to Joseph Thomas Christie, who has been arrested on other charges. (See Police Gazette, 1923, pages 589 and 600.)
