He was a clerk in the employ of the New Zealand Government, Pensions Department, Wellington, and resigned on the 31st August last; and Olive Mavis Peters (wife of above named), age twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 6 in., native of New Zealand, slight build, very fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes; dressed in a navy-blue costume, black-fur coat, and violet or navy-blue toque; actress appearance. They forged the names “ John G. Kay ” and “ Mavis Kay ” to two War Pension Advices for £136 10s. and £SB 10s., respectively, authorizing the Postmaster at New Plymouth to pay these amounts. The female accused called at the post-office referred to and presented a forged War Pension Certificate and a forged Agent’s Warrant corresponding in names, numbers, and amounts, and received payment. There are other similar charges pending. The names Arthur Woods and May Woods, James Butler and Kate Butler, William Jackson and Rose Jackson, and Charles J. Collins and Pearl Collins, being used.
