PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. — 18th June last, in Queen Street, the property of MARTA PORTER, 65 Great North Road, a black handbag, containing a 10s. note and about 10s. in silver, a small cameo brooch with a leaf at top and bottom ; a gold long brooch, set with three diamond oameos ; and a gold brooch, set with an emerald : total value, about £7. Not identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the Ist June last and the 6th ultimo, from the dwelling of JOSEPH EDWARD WILSON SOMERVILLE, medical practitioner, at 4 Alfrod Street, a Dutch teapot-stand ; a glass cream-jug ; a glass water-jug ; a glass sugar-basin ; a silver-mounted oak biscuit-barrel; a rose-blue-and-silver-coloured Poland cream-jug and basin ; three Poland afternoon-tea cups and saucers ; a cut-glass vinegar- ; a Royal Doulton square vase ; six oyster-forks ; four afternoon-tea cups ; silver, cut-glass, and green-china flower-bowls ; a silver-and-glass vase ; six cut-glass goblets ; and six cut-glass tumblers : total value, £ls. Auckland. —25th June last, from outside the dwelling of GEORGE JONES, at Terrace Road, St. Heliers Bay, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled 22 in. B.S.A. bicycle, downturned handles, Dunlop tires ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Auckland. —Between the 6th and 17th ultimo, from the S.s. “ Tofua,” between Samoa and Auckland, the property of ALBERT ERNEST GODKIN, 9 St. Mary’s Road, Ponsonby, a gentlemen’s gold-filled open-face keyless Waltham watch, enamel around second-hands chipped ; a Samoan straw-coloured mat, 8 ft. by 6 ft.; a pair of light grey-tweed check trousers a grey Harris-tweed coat with long lapels, “ Schneideman, Auckland,” on tag of inside breast-pocket; a coat; five pairs of khaki riding-breeches; a suit of woollen Mosgiel underwear; two grey cotton and wool singlets; a navy-blue bathing-suit; eight pairs of white socks ; a pair of dark-grey-tweed trousers ; four medium-size khaki tropical coats ; and four khaki shirts : total value, £2O 18s. Auckland. — 16th ultimo, from a carrier’s cart between Auckland and Avondale, the property of THOMAS GRIFFITHS, Meola Road, Point Chevalier, a brown-leather Gladstone bag, containing a blue-serge coat, a pair of darkgrey trousers and vest, a shirt, a pair of socks, two ties, a Valet razor in a-nickel case, a Gillette razor, a Bengal razor, a shaving-brush, a pair of scissors, a knife, fork, and spoon, a pillow-slip, a ledger-book, a cup, a ruler, and several papers ; total value, £ll 17s. lid. Identifiable.

Auckland. Between the 20th and 25th ultimo, between Sydney and Auckland, per s.s. “ Marama,” the property of J. C. WILLIAMSON PANTOMIME COMPANY, a pair of dark-blue-serge trousers and coat with blue and green thin

stripes, “ Spinks, Collins Street, Melbourne,” on tag of coat; a silk large scarf, black on one side and purple on the other; a Chinese black-silk drape, 4 yards by 3 yards, with numerous small mirrors attached, orange-silk lining, and worked with orange and green braid ; a mauve-silk drape, about 1J yards by 6 yards, with yellow and green edging formed in squares or oblongs ; and a green, a mauve, and two red ostrichfeather fans, three feathers in each about 20 in. long : total value, £44. Identifiable.

Auckland. — l2th instant, from IVAN VEZA’S boardinghouse at 94 Federal Street, a gentlemen’s silver open-face keyless Waltham watch; and an 18 ct. gold curb double watch-chain, with an oval shield medal attached: total value, £l9 10s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —On or about the Bth instant, from JOSEPH ALBERT SCREEN, labourer, Oparakio, while under the influence of liquor, a £5 note ; four £1 notes ; a gentlemen’s silver open-face lever watch, No. 691322, with gold hands a silver open curb double watch-chain, with a watch-key and a silver heart pendant with a gold shield in centre attached : total value, £l4 10s. Identifiable except money.

Auckland. 7th ultimo, from a tram-car, the property of DOROTHY WILSON, 167 New North Road, Kingsland, a ladies’ gold ring (recovered); a brown-canvas bag; a gentlemen’s gold band ring ; a £1 note ; a 10s. note ; and about 2s. : total value, about £l7 14s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Rebecca Myers (name probably fictitious), age about forty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., stout build, dark hair and complexion. The recovered ring was pawned for £1 10s. in Mendelsohn’s pawnshop in Wellesley Street.

Auckland. — On the 16th instant tho shop of CHARLES ALBERT HICKS, grocer, 124 Jervois Road, was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : 62 packets of cigarettes of various brands; a quantity of tobacco, biscuits, and chocolates ; and 2s. 6d. : total value, £3 14s. lOd. Not identifiable.

Auckland.— 9th instant, from a laundry at the dwelling of RONALD STEWART PARK, 5 Tahora Avenue, a gentlemen’s light-brown-gabardine overcoat, one button missing; value, £3. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Humphrey Moynihan, age twenty-seven; , height 5 ft. 8 in., hawker, native of New Zealand, medium build, ruddy complexion, ginger hair, blue eyes. He has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. p

Ngaruawahia. On or about the 7th instant, from a tent at Kainui, the property of JOHN DRAGOVICH, gumdigger, a black suit, a pair of white-and-blue-striped pyjamas, five negligee-shirts, three pairs of dark woollen socks, several ties, two hair-brushes, a white-handle razor, a pair of runningboots (size 8), a gold small-link chain, and a canoe ; total value, £22 10s. Identifiable.

Kaikoura. — the 23rd instant the FARMERS’ COOPERATIVE STORE was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : 4 yards of wine-coloured dressserge ; 5 yards of maroon-velveteen ; a dark-grey and a fawn Cardigan jacket; a grey soft-felt hat; two dozen pairs of black woollen socks, some with fancy stripes on sides ; six negligee-shirts, mostly black-and-white-striped; and four suits of light-striped pyjamas : total value, £l7 14s. Shirts and pyjamas only identifiable.

Darfield. —28th ultimo, from a motor-car at Sheffield, the property of FREDERICK WILLIAM GARTERY, farmer, Springbank, a Kaiapoi rug, brown with coloured squares on one side and light-brown on the other side with coloured squares ; and a Petone rug, slate colour on one side and brown squares on the other side : total value, £ls.
