Whangarei. —Between the 20th March and the 10th April last, the property of EDWARD MULLAH, Mill Road, a double-barrelled shot-gun, No. 3093, makers Tobin Arms Company, Porurch, U.S.A. ; value, £l2. Identifiable.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 26th ultimo, from the railway left-luggage office, the property of WILLIAM AUGUSTUS LIMBRICK, land agent, a small index-book, containing a left-luggage ticket, and a railway tourist ticket for the North Island, dated “ 26/5/23. P. 35,” No. 2749 over 054, “ W. A. Limbriek ” on back, available until “ 2/7/23 ” ; a brown-leather suit-case, containing two pairs of woollen underpants, a woollen and cotton vest, a leather collara pair of riding-breeches, a dark-tweed striped sports coat, a pair of slippers, several shirts, and a nickel Gillette razorsharpener in a black-leather box : total value, £9 Is. Auckland. —On the 4th May last, the premises of WALTER SHERIDAN BRINSLEY, storekeeper, in Milford Road, were broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : A quantity of tobacco and cigarettes of various brands ; several bottles of castor-oil, olive-oil, and machineoil ; a bottle of Scubbs ammonia; and three bottles of Elliman‘s embrocation : total value, £ls. GEORGE ARRINDELL DOUGALL’S attache-case, &c., stolen: The amber beads have been recovered from Mrs. Dannefaerd’s curio-shop in Rotorua by the Rotorua police, where they were left for sale by Miriam Hyams, 303 Queen Street, Auckland, who has been interviewed, but no evidence resulted. Frankton Junction. —On the 24th ultimo the premises of BENNETT AND COLEMAN, confectioners, were broken into, and a quantity of chocolates and chewing-gum stolen therefrom. Suspicion is attached to Two Men (names unknown. Description: (1.) Height about sft. 8 in., medium build ; dressed in a cloth cap and muffler. (2.) Height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build. They are also suspected of having attempted to break into CHARLES SKIDMORE’S premises in Massey Street. r -

Marton. —On the sth and 13th instant, from outside the Marble Bar, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled high bicycle, upturned handles bound with tape, Vartan red tires, value £7, the property of WILLIAM CZEPANSKI, labourer, Crofton ; also from the Presbyterian Church a gentlemen’s 22 in. Argyle bicycle, No. 92628, black-enamelled with green and gold lines, upturned handles, nickel rims, Vartan red tires, value £l2 10s. (identifiable), the property of JAMES WALSON GIBSON, tailor, Oxford Street.

Ashhurst. —On or about the 18th May last, from the roadside, the property of STANLEY JAMES HANLON, dairyman, a dark-grey Jersey cow (in calf), L branded on right rump, horns turned inwards, tail has been broken ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Palmerston North. —2nd instant, from outside RICHARD PECK’S dwelling at 21 Cuba Street, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled free-wheel 22 in. B.S.A. bicycle, No. 65679, with Hudson Cycle Company’s transfer on it, upturned handles with black grips, front rim painted green, red tires ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Johnsonville. Between the 27th and 29th May last, from a shed at WILLIAM HAINES’S dwelling in Marama Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled 28 in. bicycle, rusty handles, Eadie Coaster hub, Dunlop tire on front wheel, Barnet-Glass tire on back wheel; value, £3. Identifiable.

WeIIington.— WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL’S motorcar stolen : When the car was recovered by the Auckland police a clothes-brush with “ F. Miller ” on it was found in the tool-box. Between the 23rd and 26th ultimo the premises of ROSS AND GLENDINING in Esk Street were broken into, and the following boots stolen therefrom : A pair of gentlemen’s box-calf light Cookam’s boots, size 8, with white-leather lining, marked “ 65 D.D.” rubber heels with “ 1.T.5.” on each ; a pair of gentlemen’s box-calf Derby boots, size 8, Flexible brand, pug-toes with mauve-leather lining, marked “ 129 D.G.” (one boot recovered) ; and a pair of gentlemen’s glace-kid Derby boots, size 8, with whitecanvas lining, marked “ 2018,” Matchless brand: total value, £5 4s.
