Whangarei.—lst instant, from a dressing-room at the Town Hall, the property of NATALINA YES, 31 Wellesley Street, Auckland, a ladies’ gold keyless small Swiss wristlet-watch, with “ To Natalina, from R.S.T. 12/4/20 ” on back, in a black-ribbon wristlet; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Helensville. —29th January last, from clothing in the Agricultural Hall, the property of JOSEPH JELICICH, labourer, Parkhurst, a No. 1 Kodak camera, No. 116 ; value, £5 ss. Identifiable.

Auckland.—On or about the 18th ultimo, from the GANE MANUFACTURING COMPANY’S workshop in the Strand, Parnell, a coil of fuze-wire, six steel twist drills, six Society of Automobile Engineers’ taps’ of various sizes, and a set of expanding reamers (one missing) in a polished case ; total value, £l2 2s. Te Aroha. 24th January last, from a motor-car between Turua and Te Aroha, the property of MRS. J. E. GREEN, Turua, a ladies’ three-quarter-length Coney-seal overcoat with light-grey collar and floral silk lining; value, £25. Identifiable.

Tuakau. —P. J. MOURANT’S telescope stolen : It has now been ascertained that the following additional articles were also stolen : A damask rose-pattern tablecloth, about 4 yards long ; a red-and-yellow rose-pattern china fruit-bowl, with “ Poland China R.S.” and “ Made in German Poland ” on it ; a set of stag-horn-handled carvers in a case ; and a pair of glass salt-cellars : total value, £2 L7s. 6d. Gisborne. —On the night of the 20th ultimo the shop of SAMUEL BARDWELL in Peel Street was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : Fifty packets of cigarettes and £1 in copper; total value, £3 7s. Suspicion is attached to Frank Bailer, alias Bailor, alias Doune, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 74 in., labourer and taxi-driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair, light-blue eyes, scar on left thumb. Waipukurau. —On the Bth instant a sample-room in the Leviathan Hotel was broken into, and the following, the property of SARGOOD, SON, AND EWEN, Wellington, stolen therefrom: Six white-celluloid serviette-rings, a tortoiseshell-celluloid tray, two celluloid hand-mirrors, two black-backed hair-brushes, two clothes-brushes, three silver pencil-holders, a dozen steel key-chains, a dozen E.P. keychains, a dozen Christopher Johnston pocket-knives, a dozen assorted pocket-knives, two cards of white-handled pocketknives, a dozen black-handled pocket-knives, two dozen briar pipes, a quantity of collar-studs, a dozen gilt brooches, two leather purses, fourteen Onoto fountain pens (some goldmounted), six Stewart fountain pens, six Swan fountain pens (some gold-mounted), and several dessert-knives and tableknives (some stainless); total value, £43 4s. lid. Palmerston North. ultimo, from a bedroom at the Masonic Hotel, the property of WILLIAM BALE ANDREWS, Maheno, North Otago, a gentlemen’s fawngabardine rainproof overcoat, “ W. B. Andrews ” on inside of hanger ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Masterton. —WILLIAM GEORGE PERRY’S shop broken into : It has now been ascertained that a small steel handdrill with a double purchase-wheel, grips made of wood in the form of a knob, handle riveted to wheel, which has been broken and rebrazed, was also stolen ; value, £1 10s. Masterton. —Between the 9th December, 1921, and the 6th January, 1922, from a hut on Hikorangi Station, the property of JOHN PATRICK BYRNE, rabbiter, a 12-gauge double-barrelled shot-gun, No. 5095 ; a -22 short Winchester rifle ; a -22 automatic Winchester rifle, No. 103802 ; and a •303 Lee-Enfield military rifle, No. 838327 : total value, about £3O.
