Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). 26th ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Kent,” J. A. Reithbergen, age twenty-five, tall, steward, native of Holland, medium build, fair complexion, curly fair hair, and blue eyes ; dressed in a blue suit.

Auckland. Bth ultimo, for escaping from Avondale Mental Hospital, Robert Prescott, age fifty-two, labourer, native of New Zealand, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes ; slightly stooped ; dressed in brown moleskins. / “tyP ' mA/W

Auckland.— 9th instant, for indecent exposure, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height about 6 ft., slight build, fair complexion, ginger hair; dressed in a grey suit and hat and tan boots. Accused in Myers’s Park indecently exposed himself within the view of school children. No warrant.

Auckland. 2nd December last, on warrant for theft of £3, the property of Robert James Hamilton, schoolmaster, 8 Gladwin Road, Epsom, Arthur Alexander Lennon, alias Andrew Lind, age twenty height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, lightbrown hair, blue eyes. Accused, who was managing a farm near Mercer for complainant, was given £3 with which to pay Patrick Campbell, an employee, but failed to do so. There arc other charges pending. Napier. 27th ultimo, that he may be induced to pay arrears due for the maintenance of his son, an inmate of Weraroa Industrial School, Victor Mills Stewart, age thirtyseven, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, left thumb missing. Waipawa. —2lst December last, on two warrants of commitment to Auckland Prison for six months and three months in default of paying £3O 19s. 6d. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Ida Mary Holmes and child, Louis Edmond Nelson Holmes, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., linotypist, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, sandy hair, blue eyes, small lump on right side of lip, limps slightly on right leg; usually well dressed ; wears pince-nez. Accused obtained the following described wristlet watches, value £2B from Robert Frank Wood, jeweller, Broadway, by falsely representing by telephone that he was speaking on behalf oP'ltev. Kit,cat, and that 'they desired to select a watch, for presentation to flplady who was leaving Marton. Accused obtained goods, value £2 2s. 6d., and £2O 17s. fid. cash from Armstrong and Co., drapers, Colombo Street, by means of a cheque for £23, to which he forged the signature “ D. McLean.”

Timaru. 3oth December last, on warrant for entering on land in the occupation of his wife Margaret Walker, Washdyke, whilst a separation order was in force, James Henry Walker, age about forty-eight, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, sandy hair, blue eyes, snub nose, scar on left side of left foot; dressed in a navy-blue suit, grey-felt hat, and light silk oileoat; boots turned up at toes. Accused entered on land in the occupation of his wife and unlawfully took away one of the children, Andrew John Walker, the children, Andrew John Walker,jtg^six.

Middlemarch. —23rd December last, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £3 7s. fine and costs for unlawfully shooting a wild duck, Harry Levett Henderson, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 10 in., farmer, native of New Zealand ; dressed in riding breeches and leggings, brown coat and vest, and soft felt hat. Invercargill.— lst November last, on warrant for theft 'of a saddle and bridle (recovered), value £ls, the property of Alexander Forbes Wishart, farmer, Ryal Bush, William James Crawford, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair going bald, blue eyes, scar on chin ; dressed in a brownish-grey sports suit and grey soft hat. Accused, who was employed by Mr. Forbes, farmer, Lochiel, stole the property from the stable and endeavoured T,o sell it. There is another charge pending.
