Queen Street Wharf (Auckland).26th July last, on warrant for theft of a metal valve (recovered), value £5, the property of Auckland Harbour Board, J. Rennie (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, dark hair and complexion, clean-shaved: shabbily dressed. Accused stole the valve from a reserve at Freeman’s Bay and sold it for £1 10s.

Man (name unknown), rape : A warrant has been issued for the arrest of accused, and the following amended description is supplied by the Auckland police : Age about forty-three, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fresh complexion, long black hair turning grey, blue eyes, long thin nose, clean-shaved, gold tooth in left upper jaw, small double chin, teeth discoloured; dressed in black trousers (no vest),, tan boots, and grey-felt hat; active appearance.
