Accused, who was driving a small two-seater motor-car, invited Annie and Helen Forward, age twelve and ten respectively, to have a ride in the car. They, accepted the invitation, and whilst driving along Massey Road, Mangere, he committed the offence. No warrant.

Gisborne. — July last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Alice Simpson, and children, Alexander Wesley Simpson, age forty-seven, height 5 ft. 11 in., carter and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, sandy complexion, red hair, blue eyes, ginger moustache ; fond of drink. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Palmerston North. He has failed to maintain his wife and children, and inquiries are at the instance of the State Children’s Department, South Australia.

Wellington.— 2lst August last, on warrant for false pretences, John McKenzie, age seventy-two, height 5 ft. ll|-in., native of Ireland, medium build, sallow complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, nearly all teeth missing, scar under left eye, on left eyebrow, and on nose ; dressed in a grey suit, brown-felt hat, and brown overcoat ; stooped, and carries a walking-stick.
