Memorandum.!
Montgomery Relief Fund. Ex-Constable H. J. Montgomery, who recently retired from the Force as medically unfit owing to failing eyesight, desires me to convey his sincere thanks to the members of the Force who subscribed so liberally to the fund for his assistance, and showed their sympathy for him in his affliction in such a practical manner. The substantial sum of £284 ss. Bd. was subscribed, and that amount was handed over to exConstable Montgomery on the 19th instant. A. H. Wright, Commissioner of Police. Wellington, 30th August, 1922.
