Accused obtained £35 from John Joseph Coady, billiard-saloon keeper, i) 149 Victoria Street, by falsely representing that he had a draft for £SO at the Bank of New Zealand, Auckland. His photograph is filed in the Inspector’s Office, Napier.

Wanganui.2lst June, 1920, on warrant for theft of £5 the property of Sydney Arthur Robert Mair, farmer and civil engineer, Hunterville, William Farrelly, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 11 in., farm-manager, native of New Zealand, good build, ruddy complexion, dark hair, blue-grey eyes, sloping shoulders, slightly bow-legged ; dressed in a browntweed suit and soft brown hat with wide rim ; plausible manner. Accused was manager of complainant’s farm and fraudulently drew from his account cheques purporting to be in payment for purchases of stock, &c. He was arrested at Auckland and failed to appear at Te Kuiti on the Ist instant in accordance with the conditions of his recognizance. He may attempt to leave this Dominion. There are other charges pending.

Feilding.—3oth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wanganui Prison for ten days in deiault of paying £2 13s. fine and costs, Fred Edward Hubner, age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, florid complexion, brown hair; dressed in a blue suit and grey-felt hat. A summons for being on licensed premises during prohibited hours is also to be served upon him.

Wellington.—l6th December last, on warrant for failing
