Auckland. 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Elsie May Gooder, Leonard Francis Gooder, age thirty, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and traveller, native of New Zealand, slight build, medium complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, slight scar under one eye, slightly stooped; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit; smart appearance. Auckland. — 21st ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Paparua Prison for one month in default of paying £22 10s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Annie Boenicke, 165 Karangahape Road, August Richard William Boenicke, age about fifty-four, height 6 ft., painter and signwriter, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, broken nose; ship, wheel, and anchor on left upper arm. * computed to 20th August last. Scott, Reginald Henry Scott, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 8 in., motor mechanic, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown long hair brushed back, blue-grey eyes, scar above right eye, behind left ear, and on lower lip; dressed in light-grey trousers and blue coat and vest; fond of drink. Rotorua. 2lst June last, that he may be compelled to maintain his relative, an inmate of Porirua Mental Hospital, Joseph Patrick Sheridan, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in., Maori interpreter, native of New Zealand, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, hazel eyes, scar on left knee and on left forefinger; defective sight, wears glasses. New Plymouth. 29th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to New Plymouth Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £2 15s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his son, Thomas Joseph William Spalding, an inmate of an industrial school, Thomas Joseph Spalding, age thirty-nine, height 5 ft. 9|- in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, grey eyes, scar on each forearm and on abdomeir. Waif aw a. —4th August last, on two warrants for failing to comply with the terms of maintenance orders for the support of his wife, Ida May Holmes, Pukehou, and child, Louis Edmond Nelson Holmes, age forty height 5 ft. 7 in., linotypist, medium build, fresh complexion, sandy hair, blue eyes, small lump on right side of lip ; dresses well in a brown or light suit and tan boots ; wears pince-nez ; limps slightly • on right leg. Masterton. —lsth ultimo, for theft of about £6O (consisting of a £lO note, five or six £5 notes, and some single notes) not identifiable, the property of Albert Tonks Fauvel, merchant, 59 Victoria Street, Wellington, Alexander Wallace Copley, alias Taylor, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and spieler, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark hair and complexion, hazel eyes, scar on left cheek, five small moles on left upper arm, mole on back; dressed in a grey check suit, white handkerchief (with amber diamonds) protruding from breast-pocket, and tan boots. A wallet containing the money was stolen from complainant’s bedroom at the Empire Hotel, where accused also occupied a room near complainant’s. Accused left for Wellington by motor-car next day, accompanied by Steve Bishop, referred to in Police Gazette, 1921, page 687, and Mrs. Driscoll. No warrant. Martin-borough. — Hilmar Bergstrom, failing to maintain, has forwarded, from Palmerston North, £5 to the Clerk of Court, Martinborough, as part-payment of arrears of maintenance. Wellington. 7th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his two children, George Norman Beaton, age thirty height 5 ft. 8 in., draper and salesman, native of New Zealand, slight build, pale complexion, dark-brown hair turning grey, blue eyes ; usually dressed in a brown or blue sac suit; fond of drink and gambling. Mount Cook. lst June last, for having an unlawful weapon in his possession, Wong Young, age about forty, height 5 ft. 6 in., fruiterer, native of China, medium build, sallo.w complexion, black straight hair, clean-shaved; usually showily dressed in a grey sac suit and patent-leather boots ; speaks good English. He has also failed to register in accordance with the provisions y6i Registration of Aliens Act - 1.9].7. ■

Westport.— l2th instant, that he may be located and the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Nelson, notified, Peter Jost, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and electrician, native of America, nick in one ear, scar on abdomen, cannon, “8,” and two hearts on arms; dressed in a dark suit and brown - felt hat, and wears, a returned soldier’s badge, No. 10/3412. Fricker, an inmate of Caversham Industrial School, Arthur Duncan, alias Anderson, age thirty-one, height 5 ft. BJin., labourer, ploughman, and butcher, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved, scar over left eye, left elbow injured; fond of drink. He was serving a sentence of four years’ reformative detention for forgery and uttering.
