SPECIAL INQUIRY.
Murder. Opotiki. Between 4 p.m. on the 4th and 4 p.m. on the 9th instant, at Maraenui about thirty miles from Opotiki Paul Zambucka, a hawker, was murdered by some person or persons unknown. The body was found partially covered with logs in the scrub at Motu River with fifteen pellets of No. 5 shot in the head. At the time of the murder he is supposed to have been in possession of a large sum of money, and the following cheque, &c., for which special inquiries are to be made : No. 376343, .for 16s. 10d., drawn on the New Zealand Government by T. Anaru, Native Land Court, Rotorua, in favour of T. Webb - a silver hunting keyless watch, No. 624854, Sirdar, maker; a curb rolled-gold watch-chain; and a gold-mounted cigarette-holder in silver case. / .
