Palmerston North. 23rd September last, from Cuba Street, the property of BERT 'JACOBS, solicitor, Rangitikei Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel RudgeWhitworth bicycle, No. 772, 22 in. frame, upturned handles with brown-leather grips, rat-trap pedals, steel mud-guards and rims ; value, £9. Wellington. — On the 28th September last the dwelling of ATHOL MILLWARD, accountant, 15 Talavera Terrace, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A four-draw telescope, about 36 in. extended and 15 in. closed, several scratches on each cylinder, in black-leather case, with silverplate on centre, may have “ D. Wellington. —On the 10th or 11th September last, the dwelling of ANNIE STIRLING, 227 Thorndon Quay, was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : A ladies’ gold open-face French watch which has been converted into a wristlet watch, gold expansion band ; and £lO 15s. in cash : total value, £2O 15s. Suspicion is attached to Horace Smith, age twenty-two, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on back of neck.
