Hawera.— Man (name unknown), unlawfully using a motor-car, the property of John Edward Mortimer: A warrant has now been issued for the arrest of some person or persons unknown for this offence. Suspicion is attached to a man who gave the name of Atkin or Atkinson, and who called at Ford’s garage at Bull’s on the 4th instant for oil and benzine, age about twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, fresh complexion, reddish hair, clean-shaved, full round face ; wearing a grey muffler, dark-tweed overcoat, and soft-felt brown hat. The following articles were taken from the car : A greenish plaid Mosgiel rug, a fawn rainproof overcoat, and a gentlemen’s scarf of bluish-grey with pink lines at ends ; total value, £l3 ss.
