Auckland. —4th ultimo, for theft of a rolled-gold wristlet watch, value £3 (recovered), the property of Jackisan Nathu, porter, Salvation Army Metropole, Francis Thornton (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in, labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair. The watch was stolen from complainant’s bedroom and sold at Martha Lindsay’s second-hand shop for 6d No warrant.

Auckland. — 17th instant, on warrant for attempting to leave New Zealand with the intention of failing to provide for the maintenance of his wife, Louisa Everett, 11 Dominion Road, Albert Frank Everett, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 9 in.,' billiard-room manager, medium build, fair complexion, lightbrown hair, blue eyes. His photograph is filed in the Super- * intendent’s Office, Auckland.

Auckland. —24th May last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £7 6s. fine and costs for leaving New Zealand without a permit, &c., Robert Bedwell, age twenty, height 5 ft. 10 in., driver, native of England, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, woman’s head in heart on right forearm. Gisborne. 26th July last, on warrant of commitment to Gisborne Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying 10s. costs for a breach of his prohibition order, John McLeod, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer and carpenter, native of Scotland, medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair and moustache, blue eyes ; slovenly appearance.

Hawera.— Man (name unknown), unlawfully using a motor-car, the property of John Edward Mortimer: A warrant has now been issued for the arrest of some person or persons unknown for this offence. Suspicion is attached to a man who gave the name of Atkin or Atkinson, and who called at Ford’s garage at Bull’s on the 4th instant for oil and benzine, age about twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, fresh complexion, reddish hair, clean-shaved, full round face ; wearing a grey muffler, dark-tweed overcoat, and soft-felt brown hat. The following articles were taken from the car : A greenish plaid Mosgiel rug, a fawn rainproof overcoat, and a gentlemen’s scarf of bluish-grey with pink lines at ends ; total value, £l3 ss. Wanganui. —l9th instant, that he may be compelled to maintain his two children, inmates of Wellington Receiving Home, Hugh Alexander McFarlane, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer and shepherd, native of New Zealand, medium build, black hair, blue eyes, large nose, dark small moustache, decayed teeth, round face ; dressed in a navyblue suit and black-felt hat; smart appearance ; fond of drink. Otaki. —On or about the 15th May last, that a summons for unlawfully delivering possession of a firearm to another person may be served upon him, Ernest Frederick Greathead, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. 7J in., dairy-factory manager, native of England, medium build, dark complexion and moustache, black hair going bald, grey eyes ; dressed in a dark suit and brown-felt hat or light cap ; quiet manner. Otaki. —l7th instant, that she may be informed that she is required to register in accordance with the provisions of the Registration of Aliens Act, 1917, Rosena ■ Holan, age about forty-seven, height about 5 ft. 6 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark complexion, black hair, grey eyes, squint in left eye, full round face. -

Wellington. —9th instant, on warrant for being absent from the s.s. “ Durham ” without leave, John Whelan, age about twenty-seven, height ; 5 ft. 6 in.,' fireman, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes ; dressed in a blueserge suit.

Wellington. 22nd instant, for falling to comply with the conditions of his release upon probation, Edwin Dudley Nicholson, alias Kinkerry, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 5 in., motor mechanic, native of Australia, medium build, fair hair and complexion, brown eyes, scar on right hand and on left leg. He may assume the name William Humphries. (See Police Gazette, 1921, page 474.)

Her husband, Fred Radloffe, has failed to notify his change of address in accordance with the provisions of the same Act. Description : Age fifty-eight, height 5 ft. 4-J in., cook, native of Germany, slight build, brown hair, light-brown eyes.

Christchurch. —13th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Doris May Wright is the mother, William Whitla, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 5 in., carpenter, slight build, dark hair and complexion, cleanshaved ; dressed in a dark-tweed suit and cap ; fond of drink and quarrelsome when under its influence.
