Newton. -28th ultimo, from Karangahape Road, the property of ERNEST TUCKER, Cecil Street, Takapuna, a gentlemen’s free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, upturned handles with one grip, rat-trap pedals, back-pedalling brake. Dunlop tires value, £l4. ab l e. y / Newton. —On or about the 1 3th instant ROBERT PEARSON AND CO.’S premises at 20 Karangahape Road were broken into, and the following boots stolen therefrom : Two pairs of gentlemen’s patent-leather Court shoes, sizes 5 and 6, with “ A.S.A.” on soles and black petersham bows on each ; three pairs of gentlemen’s patent Oxford shoes, sizes _5, 7, and 8, with “ H.S. Made in Australia,” on sole of each ; a pair of gentlemen’s tan brogue shoes, size 5 ; a pair of gentlemen’s chocolate-coloured glace Oxford shoes with wide welts, size 6, “ The Murray Shoe ” in a shield on soles ; two pairs of gentlemen’s light-tan willow-calf brogue shoes, sizes 6 and 9, with “ The Murray Shoe ” in a; shield on soles ; and £3O in silver: total value,. £57/ss. Auckland. —3oth May last, from the junction of Hobson and Custom Streets, the property of ERNEST CARROCK, Fort Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled Rover bicycle, top bar dented, mud-guard on back wheel, rat-trap pedals, Dunlop tires ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Auckland. — On or about the 26th ultimo the office and workshop of JAMES P. EVANS, builder, at the junction of Great South and Manakau Roads, were broken into, and the following stolen therefrom : a gentlemen’s silver open-face Geneva watch, No. 84865 ; alO ct. gold open-face keyless American watch; and a cheque for £3 3s. 6d. on the Union Bank of Australia, Auckland, No. 53977, payable to J. P. Evans ; and 10s. worth of twopenny stamps : total value, £ls 13s. 6d. Identifiable except stamps.

Newmarket. On the 26th April last ARTHUR COLLINS STEAD’S dwelling at 28 Lillington Road was broken into, and £l6 10s. in notes stolen therefrom.

Papakura.— On or about the 22nd March last, from ARTHUR PURVIS SMITH’S motor-car in a yard at the Globe Hotel, a gross of Nettlefold’s motor cotter-pins, a Ford repairing outfit, a Moko repairing outfit, a screwdriver, a tin of Plume motor-spirit, a set of coils, a fan belt, a pair of goggles, five sheets of emery-paper, two electric bulbs, and a towel ; total value, £5. Identifiable.

Huntly. — l6th ultimo, from behind the Press Office, the property of WILLIAM RALPH, farmer, an English huntingsaddle, with a bloodstain on seat, three-bar nickle irons, leather girth ; value, £l4. Identifiable.

Te Aroha. On or about the 14th ultimo, from JOHN ENGLAND BARKER’S paddock at Wardville, a nine-year-old bay hack or harness well-bred mare, 16 hands, black points, full mane, several white hairs on forehead, front hoofs slightly cracked; and an 18 in. draught collar, with “ Penia ” cut under i!a-p'n total value, £22- Identifiable. / W /

Morrinsville.— Between the 18th and 20th instant WILLIAM HENRY HOGGART’S bookstall was broken into, and the following stolen therefrom: A quantity of tobacco and cigarettes of various brands, five packets of playing-cards, and a box of Bap ; total walpe, £4. Not identifiable.

Morrinsville. l9th instant, from a buggy in the churchgrounds, the property of JOHN FAUSETT, farmer, a gentlemen’s light-fawn gabardine overcoat, size 7 ; a ladies’ lightfawn gabardine overcoat, with' “ Perfect ” on inside of right pocket ; and a knitted small handbag : total value, £6 ss. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Albert Edgar Stout, alias Alfred Brown, age twentythree, height 5 ft. 5 in., driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black wavy hair, blue eyes, scar on back of right hand. Gisborne.— -Between the 4th and 6th instant the premises of Messrs. COMMON, SHELTON, AND CO., merchants, Peel Street, were broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : Four boxes of fifty packets each of yellow Three Castle cigarettes; 2J pint spirit-flasks, half-leather bound; a dozen glass pepper-pourers, plated top ; a dozen glass salt-pourers, plated top ; three dozen and eight assorted pocket-knives; a gentlemen’s silver wristlet watch; a gentlemen’s black-case watch with luminous dial; a silver open-face Celtic watch : two dozen and a half stainless knives, Johnson maker; a dozen bone-handle dessert-knives; a dozen American stainless table-knives with plated handles ; a half-dozen bent nail-scissors; a half-dozen straight nail-scissors; a half-dozen buttonhole-scissors ; three-quarter-dozen embroidery- ; and a •22 calibre American revolver : total value, £33 17s. 6d. Identifiable.

Taumarunui.— Between the 4th .and 7th instant, from a passage in Simmons Buildings, the property of MURIEL ADAMS, music-teacher, a ladies’ free-wheel 22 in. Popular bicycle, upturned handles with black grips,, back-pedalling brake, rubber pedals, no dross-guard; value, £ls. Identifiable.'X/ffl/

Taihape.— On or about the 18th ultimo, the property of TIMOTHY JAMES REARDON, carrier, a 9 ct. gold fetter-and-oval watch-chain, similar to illustration No. 21 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2 ; value, £8 10s. Identifiable.

Carlyle Street (Napier). -On or about the 20th ultimo from behind JAMES ALBERT WHITE’S dwelling at 57 Vigor Brown Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled bicycle, downturned handles, with one grip, rubber pedals, backpedalling brake, red tire on back wheel, mud-guards and parcel-carrier attached ; value, £4. Identifiable.

Carlyle Street (Napier).— On or about the 20th ultimo, from behind WALTER BATES’S dwelling at the junction of Vigor Brown and Latham Streets, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled bicycle, No. 4344, straight handles, back rimbrake, rat-trap pedals, mud-guards attached; value, £5. Identifiable.

Hastings. — • On or about the 9th instant THOMAS CLARKSON’S shop was broken into, and the following cheques and money stolen therefrom : A cheque for £1 on the Bank of New Zealand, No. 862555, signed John Chambers ; a money-order, No. 2738, for £4 Bs. 3d., payable to T. Clarkson ; a postal note for 10s. ; and £l2 9s. 9d. in notes and silver. Cheque and money-order only identifiable.

Wanganui East. —On or about the Ist April last, an unfinished building in Maketu Street was broken into, and the following, the property of HARRY PARKINSON, builder, stolen therefrom : A rip-saw with “HP ” on handle, an oilstone in a case, and an oilskin overcoat; total value, £2 10s. Saw only identifiable.

Wanganui East. Between the 2nd and 4th April last, an unfinished building in Mamaku Street was broken into, and the following tools stolen therefrom, the property of JAMES EADIE, builder, Pehi Street : A bag containing bits of various sizes, a carpenter’s line, a hammer, two bevels, two nail-punches, and a 3 ft. rule; total value, £3 10s. Identifiable.

Boston. Between the Ist April last and the sth ultimo the dwelling of ALBERT JOHN GIBBS, sawmiller, was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : A black-clotli suit, about size 5, darn on one leg of trousers; a green-plush tablecloth with two plate-stains ; two goatskin mats ; two full-sized white -bed-quilts ; eight white woollen blankets, some with red and others with black and blue stripes; nine pairs of full-size sheets; four feather pillows ; two dozen plain white pillow-slips ; three frilled pillow-slips ; six white tablecloths ; three white-huckaback towels; four pairs of chenille curtains; three casement curtains; a pair of window-curtains; three wardrobecurtains ; a white tray-cloth with worked edge ; a butcher’s knife and lifting-fork with white-bone handles ; three white bolster-covers, one with embroidery at end; four cretonne

window-blinds ; a brass coal-shovel with white-bone handle » a dozen and a half yards of new white calico ; three brown roller towels with red stripes ; a pair of white bedroomtowels ; a set of carvers ; half a dozen dinner-knives with white handles; half a dozen dessert-knives with white handles; half a dozen silver dinner-forks half a dozen dessert-spoons; half a dozen silver dessert-forks; four tablespoons; and a dozen teaspoons : total value, £BO. Wellington. —Between the 2nd and 6th instant, from a handbag the property of ALBERT JAMES RAWSTRON, traveller, 16 Victoria Street, a ladies’ 18 ct. gold ring, set with diamonds in a cluster, centre diamond larger than the others, with a flaw in it; value, £27 10s. Identifiable.

Wellington. —2lst ultimo, while in transit between 111 Hataitai Road and 147 Hataitai Road, the property of FRANCIS DAVID McCONVILLE, engineer, a black imita-tion-leather trunk, containing a silk blouse ; five crepe de Chine blouses; three ladies’ singlets; six camisoles six nightdresses ; two pairs of crash curtains ; a silver entreedish. ; a silver kettle ; a silver cheese-dish ; a silver-mounted bread-board; a case of stag-handle cutlery; a case of greenstone-handle spoons; and several china ornaments : total value, £2O. Identifiable.

Wellington.— 3oth ultimo, from EDWARD JOHN TRESSIDDER’S dwelling at 48 Abel Smith Street, a ladies’ gold ring with “ Flo ” on it, a ladies’ gold long watch-chain, a nickel-plated Post-office Savings-bank box containing £2 10s., a 10s. note, and 10s. in silver ; total value about £9. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about forty-two, height about 5 ft. 5 in., brown hair, florid complexion, clean-shaved, full round face, scar on one temple; dressed in a navy-blue suit and tweed hat.

Wellington.— 7th instant, from the till in the office at the Bristol Private Hotel, the property of GEORGE LEWIS, five £1 notes ; a cheque for £3O on the National Bank of New Zealand, Te Aro, No. V 79135. Cheque only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build, fresh complexion, fair hair inclined to be ginger, clean-shaved ; dressed in a light-grey suit and fawn imitation-velour hat with a stiff rim.

Wellington.— Between the 19th and 24th ultimo, from THOMAS FUGLE’S motor-garage, at Karori, a plated small round voltmeter, about 1 in. by 2-J- in., top can be taken off, which leaves the needle exposed, Smith & Sons, Strand, London, on face ; value, £7. Identifiable.

Wellington. -27th ultimo, from a bedroom at the Railway Hotel, the property of MARGARET BOWRY, cook, an apricot-georgette evening dress, with white-silk underlining and fine white-lace overdress reaching the hips, green fancy stitching around neck, short sleeves ; value, £9. Identifiable.

On the 29th ultimo WILLIAM LEVER’S dwelling in Mosman Parade, Island Bay, was broken into, and the following articles and money stolen therefrom : A brown-leather handbag ; a black envelope purse with three compartments, containing a 10s. note and 12s. 6d. in silver ; a brown-leather wallet with “ W.L.” on it, containing £1 10s. in notes ; a black-leather wallet; and a ring with four keys attached : total value, £6 17s. Identifiable except money.

Picton. sth April last from the Picton - Blenheim Road, the property of WILLIAM JAMES GUEST, farmer, Koromiko, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Raleigh bicycle, No. 570034, nickel rims with red stripes, backpedalling and front-rim brakes ; value, £2O. Identifiable. .

Nelson.— 24th instant, from WILLIAM HOULSTON’S bedroom at the Metropolitan Hotel, a morocco wallet with W. Houlston on inside, containing three £lO notes, two ff notes, and three £1 notes ; total value, £43. Wallet only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about forty, height about 5 ft, 8 in., medium build, dark hair and complexion; dressed in a dark suit, muffler and canvas shoes.
