PROPERTY STOLEN.

Kaitaia. —On the 17th ultimo, JOHN CLARK’S dwelling in Pukepoto Road was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom : Two ladies’ nightgowns ; a brown-leather card-case, 4 in. by 2 in., lined- with Morey silk; and three £5 notes : total value, £l7 3s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to Wiremu Moinata, age fourteen, Maori, labourer, and Timoti Busby, age seventeen, farm hand, Maori. Suspects have been interviewed by the Kaitaia police, but no evidence resulted.

Kaitaia.— On or about the 7th March last, DONALD McGILLIVRAY’S hairdressing-shop was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: Standard Fire Insurance papers, No. 35440, five mantles for Wizard lights, several receipts from the Farmers’ Union Trading Company, a photograph of two men and two girls in Highland costume, and 3s. 6d. Identifiable except money and mantles.

Wiiangarei. 26th ultimo, the property of MARK DAWSON, farmer, Awaroa Creek, a gentlemen’s nickel open-face keyless eight-day Swiss watch, cream dial with two greyhounds on it; and a- ladies’ silver fine-link chain, with an oval locket with floral engraving on it attached : total value, £1 ss. Identifiable. Complainant alleges that while proceeding to his home about 10.15 p.m. on date he was knocked down and robbed by an unknown man.

Queen Street Whare (Auckland). March last, from a cabin on the s.s. “ Ngapuhi,” the property of TREVOR McGUIRE, Grey Street East, Onehunga; a gentlemen’s dark-green-gabardine overcoat, rolled collar, two holes at left bottom corner; Mutual Life Assurance papers ; a straight-stem pipe; and a silver - mounted brown-suede tobacco-pouch : total value, £6 15s. Identifiable.

Auckland. Bth ultimo, from a lavatory in the New Zealand Insurance Buildings, Queen Street, the property of DORIS HOLMES, 149 Manukau Road, a ladies’ gold ring, set with a large ruby in centre, surrounded with diamonds, and a small ruby at each side of cluster, similar‘to illustration No. 85 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 6; value, £SO. Identifiable.

Ranfurly Road (Auckland). MARY WATSON’S watch, &c., stolen : The 15 ct. gold bar brooch has been found : not stolen. (See Police Gazette, 1921, page 75.)

SCOTT, Public Trust Office, Hamilton, a brown-leather brief-bag, containing a Gillette safety razor in a case, a blade-sharpener, a pair of ebonybacked military hair-brushes in a leather case, a suit of bluishstriped pyjamas, a felt hat, a comb, and other articles of toilet requisites ; total value, £6. Rotorua.— 29th ultimo, from Mrs. MAJOR WALLACE’S dwelling in Pukaki Street, a ladies’ small-size musquash-fur overcoat, with brown-sateen lining, pockets lined with fawn velvet, brown-fur buttons, with cord fasteners (middle cord broken); value, £SO. Identifiable.

Napier.— 6th ultimo, from Tennyson Street, the property of WILLIAM GOLDING, bootmaker, Taradale, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Raleigh bicycle, straight handles with one grip, rat-trap pedals, mud-guards and parcel-carrier attached; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Napier. -Between the 2nd and 4th ultimo, from the Drill Hall, the property of the NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT (Defence Department), a Lee-Metford service rifle, No. 9702 M.1.E., with “C.l4”■ on stock ; value, £3 15s. Identifiable.
