Taihape.— On or about the 27th December last, from a bedroom at the Gretna Hotel, the property of JOE GEE, cook, a gold ring, set with three diamonds (one yellow); an 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond; a gentlemen’s silver Waltham watch ; a gold curb watch-chain ; and a 10-dollar piece : total value, £SB. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Edward Elijah Pardoe, age thirty-four, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and barman, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes ; Japanese woman, wreath, heart, and “ E.P.” on right forearm ; heart and “ True Love ”on left forearm. Levin. —23rd December last, from a railway-carriage between Levin and Wellington, the property of ARTHUR GORDON-GLASSFORD, Ihahara, a greenish leather-and-canvas suit-case, containing a grey-and-green sport’s coat, a khaki denim coat, a pair of khaki ribbed trousers, a pair of lace slippers, a small leather case, with “ No. 23/1055 ” Arthur D. Gordon-Glassford, Ist Batt. N.Z. Rifle Brigade,” on it, containing a toilet outfit; several light-coloured shirts ; a grey Cardigan jacket; a pair of grey-tweed trousers ;' and several collars and ties : total value, £2O. Wellington.— ultimo, from SARAH DAY’S dwelling at 6 Broomhedge Street, a ladies’ gold open-face keyless Geneva watch, No. 210779 ; value, £5. Identifiable. .

On or about the 15th December last, from a bedroom at the Leviathan Hotel, the property of THOMAS EADES, farmer, Eadendale, a black-satin evening-dress with an overskirt of black net, a grey-flannel costume coat with a belt on it, and a green-canvas suit-case; total value, £39 7s. 6d. Identifiable.

Invercargill.— On or about the 3rd instant PRICE AND BULLEID’S shop in Tay Street was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom: Eight shirts and two collars (recovered), a greyish-brown rough sport’s suit, size 3, with narrow diagonal stripes through it; a2O in. brownleather kit-bag, with “ 20 ” and “ K2 ” on tab, with a lock in centre and a nickel clasp at each end; several tussore and white silk double collars with long points, size 13J and 14 ; a silk handkerchief with coloured edges; two gentlemen’s companions, each containing two razors, a tooth-brush, a hair-brush, and soap-dishes; £2 ss. in stamps; a cheque for £25 on the Bank of New Zealand, Arrowtown, drawn by Cotter and £27 13s. 9d. : total value,’ £74 11s. 6d.
