, Melbourne. On or about the 29tb ultimo R. FREEMAN AND CO.’S premises at 154 Little Collins Street were broken into, and the following furs stolen therefrom : Nine whitehare tango ties; a cross fox tango tie; eight white-hare stoles ; a blue-fox tango tie ; two white Thibet capeletes ; two white Thibet tango ties ; a white-fox tango tie ; a marmot coat, 42 in., with brown floral-satin lining; a seal Coney coat with skunk opossum collar and cuffs and purple-and-brown-brocade lining; two mole Coney coats, 42 in. and 45 in., lined with Bedling’s blue satin ; a .ring-tail-opossum coat, lined with saxe-blue satin; a water-rat coat, lined with purple brocade; seven mole Coney coats, made of strips and lined with Paisley floral satin ; a wrap-shaped nutria coat, with large roll cape collar, magyar sleeves, and floralsilk lining; a dyed squirrel lock coat, large cape collar and floral-satin lining; a dolman-shaped mole Coney coat without sleeves, made of strips with floral-silk lining; a mole Coney coat, made of strips, with fl 'ral-silk lining (blue flowers); a mole coat, with cape collar, magyar sleeves, and floral-silk lining; a Persian-lamb coat, with a two-skin Japanese fox collar and dark floral brocade lining ; a Persianlamb coat, with a large nutria collar and dark floralbrocade lining; a sable-rabbit unlined coat, with a large cape collar; a black Persian-lamb coat, 33in., with greylamb collar and cuffs and blue-satin lining ; 240 ermine-skin
dresses; an old-fashioned seal-coat; a black-rabbit stole of sixteen skins, with brown - silk lining ; two skunk - dyed Belgian-rabbit stoles of six skins, with black-silk lining; a sable-dyed Belgian-rabbit stole of six skins, with brown-satin lining; a topped dyed-rabbit coat, 45 in., with double-fur collar and floral-cotton lining; a box of sable skins, stonemarten heads, tails, and pieces; and a blue-fox stole: total value, £1,252 6s. 6d, Identifiable. The above-described furs are a very uncommon lot, and endeavours may be made to dispose of them in this Dominion. Special inquiries are to be made at all fur-dealers and places of sale where such articles are dealt in. (P. 20/1327.)
