Milson ” on it, containing a navy blue suit, with flap pockets; a darkgrey overcoat, with belt at back and three buttons on each cuff; a white shirt with a blue stripe through it; a pyjama coat; and 35.: total value, £l6 16s. 6d.: identifiable except money Frederick Smith, age about twenty-two, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, medium build, fair hair and complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a grey suit, grey-velour hat, and black brogues ; smart appearance.

Complainant, who has recently arrived from England, met accused at the Central Hotel, to whom he gave two £lO notes and a £1 note on the Clydesdale Bank of Scotland to have changed. He changed the notes at the office in the hotel and then disappeared.

He may be identical with Walter Thomas Buckingham, referred to in Police Gazette, 1917, page 685. Accused stole the property from the Mount Somers train and sent it to a dealer for sale.

Otautau.— 2nd May last, that a summons may be served upon him for failing to deliver to the New Zealand Government (Defence Department) the following articles, viz. : A uniform greatcoat, a jacket, a pair of trousers and puttees, a forage cap, and two brass badges, total value £6 6s. 3d., identifiable, John Prendeville, age twenty-eight, height sft. 9 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, stout build, fair complexion, brown hair ; usually well dressed.
