Auckland. 6th October last, from a cabin on the s.s. “Talune,” the property of STANLEY EDWARD BUCHANAN, engineer, an engineer’s blue uniform with gold and purple band on sleeve, made by Hamilton, Lyttelton; a black coat and vest ; a grey-check-tweed coat and vest, made by Patterson and Prisk, Christchurch ; a white uniform coat, with 3rd Engineer’s decorations on shoulder; a uniform cap with a white cover, size 6£, with name “Buchanan” on inside; a brief-bag, size 14 in. by Bin. by 8 in., with nickel lock and fasteners and a round stain on bottom ; a silver cigarette-case, with “ 5.E.8.” on it; a silver curb double watch-chain, with a silver sovereigncase containing three sovereigns attached; and a pearlhandled pocket-knife, consisting of two blades, a cork-screw, and a nail-file : total value, £3B. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, clean-shaved ; dressed in a brown suit and grey cap ; well spoken.

Auckland. —21st ultimo, from a bedroom at 24 Nelson Street, a gentlemen’s metal open-face keyless watch, value 12s. 6d., identifiable, the property of JOHN BARTLEY ; and a gentlemen’s metal open-face keyless Swiss watch, No. 742981, value £1 55., identifiable, the property of WILLIAM SKIBINGTON.

Wellington.— On or about the 14th ultimo ROUSE AND GOLDFINCH’S premises in Vivian Street were broken into, and the following cheques and money stolen therefrom : A cheque for £IOO on the Bank of New Zealand, drawn by Messrs. Rouse and Goldfinch in favour of A. Goldfinch ; a promissory note for £6O, drawn by J. Benson in favour of W. F. Rouse ; and about £2 10s.
