PROPERTY STOLEN.

Auckland. —Between the Ist September and 18th October last, from a room at the Albert Hotel, the property of ERNEST METCALFE, traveller, a black dress-suit, made by Hope Bros., London, and a dark-grey suit, made by E. C. Browne, Auckland ; total value, £l7. Identifiable.

Auckland. — 26th October last, from a motor-car while outside the Thistle Hotel, the property of HENRY ANTONE WILLIAMS, Mellsop Avenue, Waiuku, a soldier’s kit-bag,.with “Henry. A. Williams, No. 76359,” painted on it; a haversack ; a Bengal razor and strop; a shaving-brush and a tooth-brush ; a brush ; a comb ; a pair of army slacks ; three undershirts ; two pairs of underpants ; two singlets; three pairs of socks; a pair of black army boots with rubber heels, size 8 ; an imitation tortoise-shell box, about 3 in. by 4 in., with “Newport News” on it; a pepper-box, about 2 in. by 4 in., made from an army shell; a small tin box, containing post-card views of Britain; an overcoat with “ Simpson and Edwards, Southampton Road, London,” on tab; and several books, entitled “Political Economy,” “Practical Banking,” “Labour and Capital after the War,” “Anzac Moods,” “Panama Canal,” and several New Zealand Government educational books : total value, £ls. Auckland. On or about the Bth ultimo, from GILBERT WILFRED SPRAGG’S motor-garage in Lome Street, a Dunlop railroad motor-tire with tube on a split rim, seize 880 by 120, No. K 6956 ; value, £ls. Identifiable.

Auckland. — On or about 19th October . last, from the Y.M.C.A. Buildings in Wellesley Street, the property of ORMOND BURTON, a khaki military trench-overcoat, band missing from right ouff, lining of one sleeve torn; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Auckland. —2lst ultimo, from 138 Victoria Street, the property of WILLIAM STANLEY, a light-grey-striped coat and vest, size 5, coat lined with drab-grey material, two outside flap pockets and three inside pockets in coat, and four pockets in vest; a pair of spectacles ; a Loewe pipe ; and a white-metal match-box: total value, £3 12s. Identifiable.

Auckland. —lst ultimo, from a motor-car in Albert Street, the property of ALONZO EDWARD TAYLOR, traveller, Seabrook Avenue, New Lynn, a light-brown compressed oane suit-case, about 22 in. by 15 in. by 8 in., containing a darkbrown suit (made by Browne and Co., Auckland), a pair of brown oorded riding-breeches, a suit of white-silk pyjamas with a pink stripe through them, a pair of ebony-baoked military hair-brushes, a white comb, a razor-strop, two blackhandled razors, and several other articles of clothing: total value, £9. Identifiable.

Hamilton. —2sth August last, from F. W. F. FAGAN’S farm at Tuhikaramea, a fawn-coloured Jersey heifer calf, with white face and several white spots on lower part of body ; value, £5. Identifiable.

New Plymouth. — 3rd ultimo, from.the bathroom at the Trocadero Private Hotel, the property of JOSEPH HORTON, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold open-face Waltham watch, No. 15364727, with scroll-work on edge and on back : value, £7. Identifiable.

Gisborne. —lst ultimo, from Rusher’s Cafe, the property of IRA APA, Waerengaahika, a gentlemen’s light-coloured-gaberdine overcoat with tartan lining; value, £3 ,10s.; identifiable : also a lilies’ black-leather handbag, containing three £1 notes, 10s. in silver, and a gold-mounted greenstone pendant, the property of TE RONE, Tolaga Bay ; total value, £9 ss. Identifiable, except money. Suspicion attached to Jimmie Popeta, aged eighteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., aboriginal, labourer, stout build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes, round full face; dressed in grey suit and cap.

Napier. 24th ultimo, from the Working Men’s Club, the property of GEORGE THORNTON, Riverside, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Corinna bicycle, No. 13288, upturned handles, two mud-guards, lubber pedals, backpedalling brake, tires almost new ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Waipaw a. 7th ultimo, the property of HENRY FLETCHER, Town Clerk, a gentlemen’s black-enamelltd free-wheel 24 in. Massey-Harris bicycle, upturned handles, rubber pedals, Brookes saddle, No. 94, Dunlop tires, mudguards attached ; value, £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 6in., slight build, brown longhair, cleanshaved ; dressed in a brown suit and cap.

Pahiatua. —On or about the 22nd ultimo, from behind the Trocadero Hotel, the property of ALBERT JOHN ERIKSON, Dannervirke, a gentlemen’s free-wheel 22 in. St. George bicycle, No. 69694, adjustable handles, rat-trap pedals, aluminium rims, Redfern tire on back wheel; value, £B. Identifiable.

Carterton. —29th October last, from High Street, the property of CLARENCE TURNER, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled 24 in. Governor Special bicycle, No. YB9OO, aluminium painted handles and wheels, mud-guards attached ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Lower Hutt. —4th ultimo, from a motor-shed, the property of GEORGE HERBERT SCALES, a pair of nickelmounted winkers, with a straight bit; a leather-lined gigcollar ; two large horse-covers; and a case of Union Brand motor-spirit: total value, £6 15s. Identifiable except motorspirit.

Wellington. —l3th September last, the property of FRANCIS REGINALD AVELING, Returned Soldiers’ Association, a New Zealand Government service rifle, “ 2257 ” stamped on butt; value, £3los. Identifiable. The rifle was lent to the Goody Two Shoes Pantomime Company, who failed to return it.

Christchurch. —23rd ultimo, from a room in the Dominion Hotel, the property of JOHN JAMES GIBSON, a pair of binoculars (black-leather), with “ Zomia, Paris,” on a small leather strap; a .black handled Bengal razor; and a Gillette razor in case : total value, - £ll 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to F. W. Reece, aged thirty, height 5 ft. 8 in., native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair ; dressed in dark-tweed suit and soft grey-felt hat.

Christchurch. —7th October last, from Lichfield Street, the property of KEITH LIONEL DYER, a gentlemen’s black enamelled Bell B.S.A. bicycle, No. 4185, black grips; value, £B. Identifiable.

Christchurch.— 7th October last, from a shed at the railway-station, the property of ARTHUR BRETTELL, Tuam Street, & gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Rawson and Low bicycle, No. 234, black grips, front-rim brake, steel mud-guards ; value, £6 10s. Identifiable.

Christchurch. — October last, from Hagley Park, the property of PERCY FREDERICK SAXBY, 33 Harper Street, a gentlemen’s free-wheel Governor bioycle, No. 6086, black-enamelled with red lines, black-celluloid grips, steel pedals, front-rim brake, Royal tires; value, £6. Identifiable.

Christchurch.— 3rd ultimo, from ALBERT EDWARD CREE’S yard at 94a Hereford Street, a gentlemen’s brownenamelled Avon bicycle, upturned handles with blackcelluloid grips, red reflector on back forks, motor-bicycle chain, steel mud-guards, Bates tire and Bowden cable brake cn front wheel; value, £7. Identifiable.

Christchurch.— Between the 28th and 30th October last, from bedrooms at the Waverley Hotel, a pair of wire pliers with cutter and a German razor (eagle and snake brand), total value 18s., identifiable, the property rf HENRY HOPKINS, lineman ; and a black-handled Eye Witness razor in a black case, a white bandied razor, a razor-strop, and two tooth-brushes, total value £1 Bs., identifiable, the property of JOSEPH CANNON, labourer. Suspicion is attached to (1) Albert George Anderson, age twenty, height 5 ft. 8 in., native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair worn brushed back, dark-brown eyes; dressed in a dark - grey suit and cap (see Police Gazette, 1917, page 329); (2) George Coates, age about nineteen, height 5 ft. 3 in., steward, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes; dressed in a light-coloured suit and cap.

Geraldine. —On or about 12th October last, from MICHAEL CHARLES’S dwelling at Hilton, a gentlemen’s silver Rotherbams watcb, No. 15968 ; a gentlemen’s silver Rotherhams watch ; a ladies’ gold watch, with birds engraved on case; a 15 ct. gold watch-chain, with a Maltese cross pendant with “J. S. Millan ” on it attached ; and a ladie-.’ gold neck-chain : total value, £4O. Identifiable.

Dunedin. —3rd October last, from Cook, Howlison’s garage in Princes Street, the property of GEORGE JARVEY, 146 Maclaggan Street, a gentlemen’s two-speed free-engine Humber motor-bicycle, registered No. D. 940, engine may be started by a handle on rear hub, rubber off side of belt-diiver, divided tank, bone grips, portions of brake-fittings on front fork ; value, £2O.
