Auckland. — sth instant, on warrant that he may be compelled to pay £lO 7s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of bis illegitimate child, Bernard Brum mell Gordon Wilder moth, alias Stevenson, age about twenty-two, i eight 5 ft., printer, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes. Arrears computed to Bth July last.

Thames.— llth ultimo, on warrant for obtaining credit by fraud, Albie J. Ryan, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in. clerk, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, blue eyes, scar on left eyebrow; dressed in a dark-tweed suit and black-felt hat; hangs his head when walking. Accused incurred a debt of £ll with Frank Thomas Fraider, taxi-proprietor, Pollen Street, by falsely representing that he was employed by Bamford and Brown, solicitors, Auckland, for whom he wished to transact Native business at Paeroa and Te Aroha, to which places he was driven by complainant. He tendered a valueless oheque for £ll in payment of the debt, and then disappeared.

Napier.—29th July last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, of whom Kathlyn May Fulford is the mother,- Thomas Joseph Taylor, age forty, height 5 ft. 8 in., plasterer, native of Tasmania, strong build, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey. Palmerston North. 23rd ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Henry R. Watkins (name probably fictitious), age about thirty - three, height about 5 ft. 4 in., medium build, sallow complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, small growth inside one nostril ; dressed in a lightgrey suit, brown soft-felt hat, and tan boots and leggings ; plausible manner. Accused obtained £SO from Frank Edward Richardson, farmer, Rongotea, by falsely representing that he was secretary to the Repatriation Board, Raetihi, and would get some land for complainant, and that the above amount was required for legal expenses.

Waverley.— llth instant, on warrant for theft of £SO, the property of Herbert Priest Littlewood, licensee, Railway Hotel, Waitotara, Harry Barnett, age about thirty-two, height about 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair ; dressed in a light-grey suit, dark soft-felt hat, and black boots, and wears a gold watch-chain and a returned soldier’s badge with a small chain attached; very talkative. Accused, who was staying at the above hotel, was given by complainant a cheque for £SO to oash for him at the Bank of New South Wales, Waverley. He cashed the cheque, hut did not return to Waitotara. He may be in possession of two blank cheques, Nos. 166214 and 166215 on the Bank of New South Wales, Waverley, whioh he borrowed from oomplainant, and he may be identical with H. Barnett, referred to following paragraph.

Masterton. — 3rd instant, on warrant for false pretences, H. Barnett, age about thirty-five, height about sfc. 6 in., good build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair; dressed in a brown suit, and wears a gold watch-chain.

Accused obtained goods, value £1 13*., and £4 7s. in oash, from Christopher Smith and Go. (Limited), drape's, Queen Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £6. He miy be accompanied by his wife (age about thirty - five, wearing large glasses) and two children. He may be identical with Harry Barnett referred to in preceding paragraph.

Wellington. —23rd May last, for the theft of an eightday clock (recovered), value £lO, the property of Francis Eugene McParlane, hotelkeeper, L. White (name probably fictitious), age about twenty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fresh complexion, red hair, blue eyes; dressed in a grey suit and grey-felt hat.

Wellington. —loth instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, William Louis Allen, age about fiftyfour, height 5 ft. 11 in., hotel porter, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, fair hair turning grey, blue eyes; stooped ; slovenly appearance. Arrears due to the 4th ultimo, £3.

Wellington.— 28th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a kit of plasterer’s tools (recovered), value £4, the property of James Dunnachie, 160 Sydney Street, E. Baker (name probably fictitious), age about thirty, height 6 ft., labourer, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair. Accused stole the tools from John Chambers and Son’s premises in Cable Street, and sold them to Phillips, second-hand dealer, in Taranaki Street, for 7s. 6d.

Wellington.— 2sth ultimo, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), value £3, the property of Charles Joseph Loughnan, National Bank, Grey Street, J. McKay (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-two, heignt 5 ft. 9 in., steward and cook, slight build, dark hair and complexion; usually dressed in dark clothes and cap. Accused stole the bicycle from the National Bank in Grey Street, and sold it to Gorrick, bicycle-dealer, Manners Street, for £2. Other charges pending.

Wellington. —l9th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month in default of paying £4 Bs. costs for wilful damage, Peter McCarron, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of Ireland, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar on right shin, varicose veins and scars on legs.
