PERSONS WANTED.

Queen Street Wharf (Auckland).— 2sth ultimo, for theft of an oilskin overcoat (recovered), value £1 17s. 6d., the property of Andrew Cathey, wharf labourer, Edendale Road, Roy Reed (name probably fictitious),' age about twenty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., good build, fresh complexion, clean-shaved ; dressed in a dark suit and cap ; impediment in speech. The coat was stolen from a room on the wharf and sold to Moss Robinson, second-hand dealer, 81 Victoria Street, for 10s. by a man who gave the above name. No warrant.

A u c K L a n d.—3oth May last, that he may be located and warned to comply with the terms of his release upon probationary license, and also requested to claim certain articles, his property, which are in the possession of the Auckland police, Thoralf Oswald George Knudson, age forty-seven, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer and seaman, native of Norway, fair hair and complexion, brown eyes, small nose ; Norwegian and American flags, woman, and half-moon on right forearm; “ T.K. 1907,” dove, clasped hands, and flowers on left forearm. He may endeavour to leave this Dominion.

Gisborne. 22nd May last, on warrant for theft of a quantity of olothing (recovered), value £1 10s., the property of Selina Crawford, Peel Street, Joseph Morris, age fortyfour, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and driver, native of Australia, medium build, fair complexion, dark hair, blue eyes, brown heavy moustache ; “ I love Annie,” flags, and bird on right arm; anchor, heart, butterfly, dog, and girl on left arm ; flags on chest; dressed in a dark suit and black-felt hat. Accused when leaving complainant’s shop with several skirts, blouses, &c., in a bag was accosted by Walter Findlay, who took possession of the articles. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 715.)

Ohakune. —llth instant, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months in default of paying £SO 13s. fine and oosts for illegally keeping liquor for sale, Fred Haitana, age about twenty-one, height about 5 ft.

Gordon, alias Herbert Helm, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., cook and fruiterer, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, dark hair, light-blue eyes, broad features, scar on first joint of left middle finger; dressed in a blue-serge suit and light-blue soft-felt hat; quiet manner of speaking. Accused obtained a dark-green double-breasted overcoat, branded "Embassy,” value £6, from Kirkcaldie and Stains, drapers, Lambton Quay, by means of a valueless cheque on the Bank of New Zealand, Rotorua. Timaru. —7th ultimo, that he may be compelled to maintain his daughter, Olive Madeline Palmer, an inmate of Christchurch Receiving Home, Arthur Stanley Palmer, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. 7 in., dealer and fellmonger, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, fair hair going bald, blue eyes. Balclutha. —l7th instant, on two warrants of com' mitment to Dunedin Prison for one month on each in de* fault of paying £2 12s. balance of arrears due on maintenance orders for the support of his wife and two children, Herbert Symons, age twenty nine, height 5 ft. 9 in., farmer and horse-breaker, pale freokled complexion, auburn hair, hazel eyes, thin features, prominent nose, clean-shaved, some artificial teeth; usually dressed in riding-breeches and leggings ; smart appearance.

South Invercargill.— l7th instant, that a summons for failing to render personal service may be served upon him, Frank Fenn, age sixteen, height about 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes.
