PERSONS WANTED.

Kaikohe. —18th ultimo, that a summons for supplying a prohibited person (David Padlie) with liquor, may be served upon him, Arthur Rowntree, age about thirty-three, height 5 ft. 4 in., tailor, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, dark hair going bald, dark eyes; usually well dressed in a dark suit and soft-felt hat; quiet manner; fond of drink.

Auckland.— 6th November last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Aileen Louisa Marmont (9 Baker Street), and children, Claude Randolph Marmont, age thirtytwo, height 5 ft. 5 in., bricklayer and carter, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, no teeth, bow legs, scars on legs ; talkative ; fond of drink. Auckland. —2Bth May last, that proceedings for failing to notify his change of address may be instituted against him, William Palmer, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 5£ in., bricklayer, native of England, stout build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair (bald), brown eyes; usually well dressed; erect gait.

Stratford. —l3th December last, on warrant of commitment to New Plymouth Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £4 13s. fine and oosts for assault, Sidney Sellwood, age thirty, height about 5 ft. 6 in., taxi-driver, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, curly black hair, dark eyes; usually dresses well; fond of drink.

Palmerston North. —10th instant, for escaping from military custody, Joseph Paul Fletcher, age thirtyfour, height 5 ft. sfin., miner, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, curly brown hair, grey

eyes, scar on neck; - nude woman, crown, and compasses on left arm; lump inside right middle finger; woman’s bust, heart, and spray on each side. (See Police Gazette, 1919, page 80, and Photographs, 1911, page 48.)

Wellington. —loth instant, for failing to comply with the terms of his release upon probationary license, Robert John Davies, alias Cross, age thirty, height 5 ft. 7f in., labourer and tailor, native of Tasmania, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue-grey eyes, rose on eight forearm, star and anchor on left forearm. He is at present in military custody for deserting from Expeditionary Force. His probationary license has been cancelled, and his arrest is desired as soon as he is released by the military authorities. (See Police Gazette, 1919, page 58.)

Wellington. —loth ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, J. Collins, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, medium build, tanned complexion, darkbrown hair, bracelet on one wrist, pierced heart on one forearm and an anchor on the other; dressed in a darkgrey ready-made suit and soft hat. He has the appearance of an ex naval man. Accused, accompanied by his wife, obtained goods, value £6 10s., and a loan of £lO from the firm of George and Kersley, drapers, Lambton Quay, and in payment for same uttered a cheque for £7O-on the Bank of New Zealand (Limited), to which the signature of E. L. Hibbard, manager for Blackmore and Duncan, Ruanui, had been forged (in addition that firm’s rubber stamp had been used). The cheque was one of a number stolen—Nos. 599860, 599861, 599862, 60016, 60017, 60018, 60028, 60029, 60030, 60046, 60047, 60048.

Taranaki Street (Wellington.)— 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for being an idle and disorderly person (oonsorting with reputed thieves), Abel Collier, age fortythree, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer and driver, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair oomplexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, small sharp nose. Taranaki Street (Wellington). —2Bth ultimo, on warrant for being an idle and disorderly person (consorting with reputed thieves), Martin Carroll, alias George Dixon, alias Matthews, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, freckled complexion, brown hair and eyes, large nose, freckled hands, scar on bridge of nose; usually dressed in a brown suit and brown-felt hat. Christchurch. —6th ultimo, on warrant for failing to make provision for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Cecil Alexander Maxwell, age twenty, height 5 ft. 7 in., clerk, native of Australia, thin build, sallow complexion, black hair, brown eyes, one little finger has been injured ; usually dressed in a grey suit and cap; may be wearing a heart-shaped signet ring. Christchurch. —lsth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Alice Mabel Humphries, 27 Byron Street, Sydenham, Alexander Humphries, age sixty-five, height 5 ft. 5 in., saddler, native of Ireland, slight build, fair complexion, grey hair and eyes, white moustache, wheat-stalk on one arm; usually badly dressed. Arrears to 14th ultimo, £B.

Christchurch.— sth instant, that he may be compelled to pay £76, arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of Arthur J. Jemmett, an inmate of Christchurch Receiving Home, Joseph H. Cox, age forty-six, height 5 ft. 2 in., butcher, native of Australia, dark complexion, hair turning grey, brown eyes, fiat nose.

Christchurch. —3oth ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Arthur James Johnstone, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., stout build, fresh complexion, fair hair, clean-shaved ; usually dressed in a dark-grey suit and light-grey soft-felt hat. His photograph is filed in the Superintendent’s Office. Complainant, Lucy Cecilia Johnstone, 38 Ely Street.

Dunedin. —llth October last, that he may be compelled to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his illegitimate child, Ruby Violet Keighran, an inmate of St. Vincent De Paul’s School, Richard

Cochrane, alias Corkran, age fifty-one, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer, native of Tasmania, medium build, sunburnt complexion, grey hair, brown eyes, discoloured teeth, wrinkled face, left middle finger amputated ; usually dressed in a light-tweed suit and wide-brimmed felt hat; fond of drink. He may be accompanied by a woman said to be his wife. Arrears to 4th December last, £33 15s. (See Police Gazette, 1919, page 82.)

Wyndham. —7th August last, that a notice of fine and oosts for £3 7s. for a breach of the Defence Act may be served upon him, Henry or Cecil Dennison, age about twenty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark hair and complexion ; usually dressed in a dark suit and cap; cunning appearance.
