Ponsonbv. —Between the 26th ultimo and the 2nd instant the dwelling of ALBERT EDWARD BRAUND was broken into, and the following articles stolen therefrom : A gentlemen’s gold hunting-watch, roman figures, ohased case; a gentlemen’s gold-mounted ribbon guard, with shield in centre with initials “ A.E.8.” engraved thereon; two spade-guineas formed into a locket; a silver medal with gold faoing, “ Presented to A. Braund by the footballers,” engraved on it; a gold open-face locket, child’s photo in it, ruby set in top; a greenstone brooch, with a gold yacht and “ N.S.Y.C.” on it; a pieoe of opal and a red stone ; a ladies’ oval gold open-face keyless wristlet watoh, No. 412239 ; a ladies’ open-face keyless silver wristlet watch; a 12th and a 19th Reinforcement badge; a gentlemen’s silver huntingwatch, roman figures; a heavy curb metal watch-chain, with two trinkets attached; a ladies’ open-face keyless silver watch ; a small gun-metal open-face keyless watch ; a blueenamel bangle; a turquoise-and-pearl circular brooch ; and other articles which have been recovered : total value, £45 10s. Auckland. —24th October last, from the cloak-room at the Town Hall, the property of F. W. BENNETT, Otahuhu, a gentlemen’s fawn mackintosh, pockets torn ; value, £2 15s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Two men (names unknown). First, age about twenty, height about 6 ft. 7 in., slight build, sallow complexion, brown hair; dressed in a brownish suit, a King George collar, and bow tie; smart appearance. Second, age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 4 in., slight build, sallow complexion, fair hair; dressed in a brownish suit; smart appearance. (See following paragraph.)

Raurimu. —Between the Ist and 14th instant, from a tent at Lower Retaruke, the property of E. A. MOSLEY, farmer, an 18 ct. gold engagement-ring, set with three small diamonds; a 15ot. gold wedding-ring; six £1 notes; and 4s. in silver : total value, £lB 4s. Identifiable except money. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of Ireland, slight build, dark hair and complexion, cleanshaved, scar on left side of face ; dressed in a dark suit and light-coloured cap. He may be in possession of a swag wrapped in an oil-sheet.

Palmerston North. —17th instant, from the Family Hotel, the property of WILLIAM THOMAS GRAY, a blue-serge coat and trousers, coat may have “ Webb & Brown ” on tab, trousers marked No. 1 or 2 with ink on lining; value £6. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Li. McDonald, age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., seaman, native of Scotland, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, grey eyes, scar under one eye, tattooed on arms; dressed in a blue-serge suit and black soft-felt hat.

Eastbourne. —Between May and December last, D. W* ANDERSON’S dwelling was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom: Nine white blankets, several with “ D. W. Anderson ” on them, others with “ D. Anderson, 1909,” on them ; a dozen E.P. forks, a dozen dessertspoons, five egg-spoons, six vegetable-spoons, with “ Walker & Hall, No. 1,” on them; a ladies’ black bathing-costume,

a gentlemen’s navy-blue bathing-costume, with “D. W. Anderson ”on it; a white counterpane; a pink-and-red counterpane; and a suit of flannel pyjamas, with “ D. W. Anderson ”on them : total value, £ll 12s. 6d. Identifiable.

Christchurch. —On the 7th instant, JOSEPH STANLEY’S dwelling at 12 Queen’s Avenue was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom: A ladies’ gold hunting keyless watch with “ 1.5.” on front case ; a gold curb long muS-chain; a ladies’ gold heavy dress-ring, set with a moonstone in claw setting; a ladies engagementring, set wich three diamonds and two pearls in gipsy setting; a gold wedding-ring ; a gold buckle ring, set with two sapphires and a diamond ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with a diamond in a square ; a£s note; a shilling ; and several pennies and halfpennies : total value, £37 11s. 6d. Identifiable except money.

Timaru.— 3rd instant, from the City Boardinghouse, the property of GEORGE CHAPMAN, a gentlemen’s blackenamelled free-wheel Dart bicycle, No. 971 and 169843, rubber pedals, steel mud-guards, Michelin tires, paroelcarner attached ; value, £B. Identifiable.

Timaru. —3oth ultimo, from the City Boardinghouse, the property of GEORGE CHAPMAN, a ladies’ black-enamelled B.S.A. bicycle, front lever rim-brake and press-down brake on front wheel, steel mud-guards, front wheel is 26 in. and back wheel 28 in.; value, £3 10s. Identifiable.

Timaru. —24th ultimo, from a right-of-way at the Grosvenor Hotel, the property of PATRICK O’BRIEN, 8 Avenue Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Bell bicycle, No. 3870 ; value, £3. Identifiable.

Port Chalmers. —19th ultimo, from a cabin on the s.s. “ Kini,” the property of JOHN DANIEL KELLY, engineer, an Auto Strop safety razor in a nickled case, about a dozen blades, and a strop ; total value, £1 ss. Suspicion is attached to Brown, age eighteen, steward, medium build. His effects were searched by the Dunedin police without result.
