PROPERTY STOLEN.
Auckland. —stb instant, from JAMES KIRK’S bedroom at Wellesley House, a gentlemen’s 9 et. gold Waltham watch, No. 244253, and a 9 ct. gold curb double watcbchain, with an African pebble pendant and a nickel moneycase attached: total value, £8 12s. 6d. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Henry Thompson, age about fifty, height 5 ft. 7 in., clerk, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, dark-brown hair going bald, hazel eyes, small dark moustache ; talkative, and wears pince-nez. He has been interviewed and his room and effects searched without result. (See Police Gazette, 1913, page 520, and Photographs, 1910, page 43.)
Auckland. —On the sth ultimo the Clarendon Hotel was broken into, and the following property stolen therefrom, the property of PRANK BRASIER, licensee : A cheque for £5, No. 8739578, on the National Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, payable to tbe Gas Company, Auckland; and £1 15s. in silver money.
Parnell.— 2oth November last, from a vest in Harvey and Son’s workshop, the property of JOHN TABERNER, 41 Millias Street, a gentlemen’s silver open-face keyless watch, with “Percy Evans” on dial and fancy work on back of case ; value, £2. Identifiable.
Gisborne. —26th ultimo; from FANNY M. JEX-BLAKE’S motor-car while in Customs Street, a large Kaiapoi rug, green on one side and plaid on the other, with “T. JexBlake ” on trade-mark ; value, about £4 10s. Identifiable.
Wellington. —Between the 17th and 20th October last, from WILLIAM WALTON BUSH’S bedroom at 7 Murphy Street, a gentlemen’s fawn overcoat, chain tab, two side pockets, maker “Whittaker”; value, £6 10s. Identifiable.
Wellington. —6th instant, from Grey Street, the property of EDWARD LEWIS, clerk, 18 Grey Street, a gentlemen’s 22 in. Rover bicycle, No. 28675, down-turned handles, Eadie Coaster hub ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Taranaki Street (Wellington). sth instant, from the yard at the Leviathan Private Hotel, the property of FAIRBURN, WRIGHT, AND CO., Old Customhouse Street, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel 22 in. bicycle, No. 1136 D, upturned handles (right grip missing), rat-trap pedals, back-pedalling brake; value, £3. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —3rd ultimo, from Wilson’s Bridge, the property of MICHAEL O’BRIEN, 89 Wilson’s Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel Swift bicycle, straight handles (grips missing), Westwood rims, rat-trap pedals, front- and back-rim brakes, steel mud-guards ; value, £5. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —l3th November last, from Colombo Street, the property of ARTHUR THOMSON, 409 New Brighton Road, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel B.S.A. bicycle, deep narrow upturned racing-handles, with black grips (one missing), nickel rims, rat-trap pedals, Eadie Coaster brake, Bluemels celluloid mud-guards, dent in tubing near gear-wheel and in back stay; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —Between the 4th and 10th November last, from STELLA GUY’S stables at 270 Riccarton Road, Riccarton, a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel bicycle, No. 820, reversible handles, with dark-coloured grips rattrap pedals, Oceanic tires ; value, £7. Identifiable.
Ashburton. —On or about the 24th ultimo, from East Street, the property of H. C. PERCY, tobacconist, a ladies’ black-enamelled free - wheel Adams and Co. Star bicycle, back wheel unusually heavy, dress-guard and saddle-springs missing ; value, £lO. Identifiable.
Temuka. —2oth ultimo, from King Street, the property of WALTER McCALLUM, a gentlemen’s free-wheel Springaway bicycle, No. 1082, front-rim brake, Oceanic tires, Brooks 8102 saddle ; value, £6. Identifiable.
Dunedin. —24th ultimo, from outside Laidlaw and Gray’s shop, South Dunedin, the property of WILLIAM HORNBY, 278 Melbourne Street, a gentlemen’s black - enamelled freewheel Tourist 22 in. bicycle, No. 323236, upturned handles with black-and-yellow-striped grips, rat-trap pedals, frontrim brake, back mud-guard has been repaired with rivets; value, £5 ss. Identifiable.
