PERSONS WANTED.

Auckland.— 6th April last, that he may be compelled to maintain his son, John William White, an inmate of an industrial school, William White, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., tailor, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair hair and complexion, ginger moustache ; usually dressed in a blue or brown suit; fond of drink.

Auckland. —lsth March last, that a distress warrant for £5 10s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order may be executed upon his effects, Joseph Foy, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zea land, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, ring on left ring and middle fingers, dot on back of right hand; tip of right middle finger has been injured. Hamilton. —sth July last, that he may be compelled to maintain his sister, Annie Lynch, an inmate of Auckland Mental Hospital, Charles Lynch, alias Alfred Charles Lynce, age twenty-six, height sft. Bfin., dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, mole below right eye, soar on left groin, scar on back of right hand. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 696, and Photographs, 1918, page 2.)

Gisborne.— l2th June last, that a summons for being a party to a seditious strike may be served upon him, Ray Laird, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 2 in., freezing-works hand, strong build, dark complexion, brown hair, full face.

Napier. —23rd ultimo, that he may be interviewed regarding his naturalization-papers which he said he had lost (he may not be naturalized), Robert Julius Jonson, age forty-three, height 5 ft. Ilf in., labourer, native of Germany, stout build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, artificial teeth, mole on right side of nose and at corner of right eye, scar on right wrist, right ring-finger crooked. Taihape. to maintain his wife and child, Edward Richard Williams, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 9in., mill hand and bushman, medium build, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, small fair moustache, “ Ada, fond love,” under two flags on left upper arm; usually dressed in a brown suit, fawn overcoat, and light-felt hat, and usually carries a walkingstick.

Wanganui. —l9th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, James Graham Hewitt, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 8f in., cook, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes ; scar on nose, on right palm, and on left little finger. Accused obtained £5 from Leonard Davidson Paterson, merchant, Victoria Avenue, by means of a valueless cheque drawn upon the Bank of New Zealand, Hamilton.

Wanganui.— 24th ultimo, that she may be compelled to maintain her child, an inmate of Wellington Receiving Home, Annie Fogarty, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft 7 in., domestic, native of England, slight build, fair complexion, auburn hair, sharp features ; good-looking. She may be accompanied by a boy about fourteen years and a girl eleven years. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 536.)

Waipawa.— 2oth ultimo, on warrant for publishing a disloyal statement, Harry Connelly, age forty-six, height 6 ft., labourer, native of Ireland, strong build, fair complexion, sandy curly hair and moustache turning grey, blue eyes ; dressed in a dark-grey suit and brown-felt hat; swings his shoulders when walking ; fond of drink.

Palmerston North. —27th ultimo, on warrant for theft of a ladies’ black-and-white-check costume, with two small buttons on each cuff, value £8 Bs. (identifiable), the property of Flora Cody, dressmaker, 28 Princess Street, Mabel Reynolds, alias Raymond, age twenty-one, height about 5 ft. 4 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, slim build, sallow complexion, curly dark hair; dressed in a brown coat with belt and a fur collar. Other charges pending.

Wellington. —l2th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £4 Is., arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Mary Welsh, Alfred Welsh, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. labourer, native of New Zealand, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes. Wellington. —9th May last. Inquiries are to be made for Camille Body, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 7Jin., gardener, native of France, medium build, brown hair turning grey and going bald, brown eyes, white-and-black spot on one side of nose ; active gait. Inquiries are at the instance of the French Consul. He has also failed to report his change of address in accordance with the provisions of the Registration of Alims Act, 1917. (P. 18/925.)

Christchurch. —13tb June last, for failing to register under the Military Service Act, 1916, Ernest Fowler, age twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 7 in., cook, medium build, dark complexion.

Christchurch.— sth April last, that he may be located and particulars obtained to complete his enrolment card so that his name may be brought back to the Register of Reserve, Thomas Conolly, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 7in., miner, native of Australia. He was previously discharged under section 3 ( b) of the Military Service Act.

Temuka. —30th July last, on warrant for failing to make provision for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, William Bills, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, barman, and baker, native of New Zea land, medium build, aark hair and complexion ; usually dressed in a dark suit; active appearance ; walks quickly.
