Identifiable.

Dunedin. —3rd instant, from an express, the property of JOHN ROSS, Criterion Hotel, a suit-case (recovered), containing a ladies’ gold wedding-ring; a ladies’ gold weddingring, with “8.R.” on it; a gold buckle ring; a gem ring, set with a diamond in centre and a ruby at each side; a ladies’ gun-metal keyless wristlet watch, “ Perfection ” may be on dial; deeds of a house and sections at Burnside in favour of John Ross; and a Bank of New Zealand passbook, with “John Ross ” on it: total value, about £5 16s. Identifiable. The suit-case was recovered in a reserve, where it had been cut open.

Oamaru. —4th February last, from a bedroom at Boyle’s Hotel, Hakataramea, the property of CHARLES BURDETT, care of Cardnos’s boardinghouse, Oamaru, a gentlemen’s rolled-gold hunting Elgin watch, No. 16929237; value, £3 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Bert Saunderson, height 6 ft., shearer, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, cleanshaved ; dressed in check trousers and black coat. He has been interviewed by the Ashburton police without result.

Winton. —14th March last, from the person of Patrick Devereaux, Otautau, a gold locket (recovered), and a 15 ct. gold double watch-chain, one long link and three short links, with a fine gold wire entwining short links ; value, £7. Identifiable.
