EXTRACTS FROM NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

(From New Zealand Gazette, 1917, pages 2482 and 2488.) RESOLUTION. rpHE following regulations were laid before the members 8 of the Westport Trotting Club at a meeting held on the 24th day of May, 1917, at 7.30 p.m., with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. F. W. Hagedom, jun., that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. F. W. Hagedorn, jun.,|the Chairman of the Club and of the meeting, moved, “ That it be and hereby resolved that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.” The motion was seconded by Mr. John Colligan, and carried.

The following are the regulations above referred to :

WESTPORT TROTTING CLUB. Regulations. ( Under the Gaining Act, 1908.) In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Westport Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of the said Act, and hereinafter referred to as “ the said club,” doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Racecourse Reserve situate at Mill Street, Westport, and set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Westport Trotting Course, while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

1. In these regulations the words “ bookmaker,” “ trotting clubs,” and “race meetings ” shall have the meanings ascribed to them by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. 2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the said racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings, namely : [a.) Bookmakers. ( b .) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Trotting Association. (c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Westport Trotting Club were made and adopted by the said club at its meeting on the 24th day of May, 1917, and signed by— F. W. HAGEDORN, Jtjn., Chairman; and W. THOS. SLEE, Secretary. The foregoing regulations made by the Westport Trotting Club are hereby approved this 11th day of June, 1917. LIVERPOOL, Governor. RESOLUTION. THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Nelson Trotting Club at the meeting held on the 24th day of May, 1917, at Mercer’s Rooms, Nelson, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. H. Baigent, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. H. Baigent, the Chairman of the Club and of the meeting, moved that it be and hereby is resolved that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof. The motion was seconded by Mr. J. H. Finney, and carried. The following are the regulations above referred to :

NELSON TROTTING CLUB.

Regulations. (Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Nelson Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of the said Act, and hereinafter referred to as “ the said club,” doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse reserve situate at Richmond and set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Richmond Park Racecourse, while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings. 1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “trotting club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. 2. The following persons shall be and hereby are excluded from the said racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for racing purposes, namely : (a.) Bookmakers. (6.)*?A1l persons under disqualification inflicted by any - ' trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the < ! mendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. Charles F. Vallance, that the same be passed at once with' a view to their approval by the Governor in pursuance of the Gaming, Act, 1908, section 33. Mr. C. F. Vallance, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. G. 11. Yates seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof. The following are the regulations referred to: — MASTERTON RACING CLUB Regulations. (Under the Gaming Act, 1908.) In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Masterton Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “ the said club ”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse situate in the District of Wairarapa, and known as the Masterton Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings. 1. In these regulations the words “ bookmaker,” “ racing club,” and “ race meeting ” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. 2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:— (a.) Bookmakers (b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the Racing Conference of New Zealand.
