Auckland.— 24th March last, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of her child, Sarah Power, an inmate of Auckland Industrial School, Carrie Power, age forty-two, height 5 ft., prostitute, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on left side of neck, hair on upper lip. Arrears to 7th June, 1915 (when charge ceased), £ls 4s. 6d. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 474.)

Napier.— 3lst March last, on warrant for theft of a horse (recovered), value £ls, the property of Matthew Regan, Kuripapango, Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about sft. Sin., slight build, copper complexion, black hair, brown eyes ; dressed in brown ridingbreeches, brown leggings, brown coat, and black slouch hat. Accused obtained £5 from Elfreda Pearcey, Family Hotel, by falsely representing that wages were owing to him by Mr. Seed, manager of the May Morn Estate. There are other charges pending.

Martinborough. —l4th February last, that proceedings may be instituted against him for failing to notify his change of address in accordance with the provisions of the Military Service Act, 1916, William Burnard Pearce, age forty-two, height about 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair, one shoulder injured.

Wellington. — 24th March last, for a breach of the War Regulations by landing in New Zealand without being in possession of a passport, A. H. Bremer, age forty-two, native of Holland. He was a steward on the s.s. “ Joan Craig,” from which he deserted at Gisborne. (P. 17/754.)

Greymouth. —2sth January last, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for seven days in default of paying 10s. fine and costs for drunkenness, James Ross, age fifty-three, height 5 ft. 11§ in., labourer and miner, native of Scotland, strong build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes.

Greymouth. —26th March last, that a notice of fine for 10s. for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours may be served upon him, Alfred Kirk, age thirtythree, height 5 ft. 7 in., miner and seaman, native of Sweden, stout build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, clean-shaved, burn-scars on baok of neck ; usually dressed in a light-grey suit and soft-felt hat.

Greymouth.— l7th instant, on warrant of commitment to Greymouth Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying 16s. fine and costs for being found on licensed premises during prohibited hours, Edwin Bradshaw, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 5 in., motor-mechanic, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, dark hair, blue eyes.
