Deserters and Absentees from Ships. Speoial attention is drawn to subsection (1) of section 133 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, with the view that all constables should comply with the duty thereby imposed upon them —that is, to assist, when required, the masters or mates of ships to convey on board their ships any seamen or apprentices who have deserted or absented themselves without leave.
