Auckland.—l7th ultimo, for indecently assaulting Esme Allen, a girl of the age of five years, Man (name unknown), age about seventeen, height about 5 ft. 8 in., medium build, fair freckled complexion, light-auburn hair, eyes believed to be blue, fresh scar over right eye, one front tooth nearly all gold ; believed to be dressed in a greenish knockerbocker suit, black stockings with a red stripe at top, and a black cap. The accused carried the child among the trees in the Domain, where the offence was committed. Mo warrant.

Auckland.—22nd ultimo, for tbeftof a bicycle (recovered), value £6, the property of Thomas Hilton Hope, 78 VYvndham Street, Thomas Sheehan, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fair hair and complexion. The above description is that of a man who sold the bicycle at Cohan’s Pawnshop, Victoria Street, for £2. He is believed to be identical with Thomas Sheehan, referred to in Police Ornette, 1917, page 88. Mo warrant.

Te Kuiti.—6th ultimo, that he may be compelled to pay £5 10s. 6d., ambulance and hospital expenses, Joseph Hill, alias James Hill, age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fair complexion, clean-shaved, scar on left thigh ; weight 179 lb.; dressed in grey trousers, dirty brown coat, and brown slouch hat.

Wairoa.—On or about the 30th January last on warrant for false pretences, Timothy J. Shannahan, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., engineer’s labourer, native of New Zealand, slim build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, sharp features, clean-shaved. Accused obtained £5 from Joseph Alexander Johnson, barman at the Perry Hotel, by means of a valueless cheque, drawn in favour of himself on the Bank of New South Wales, Napier, and endorsed by John Dinnan.

Christchurch.—26th ultimo, that a summons for failing to attend drill may be served upon him, Thomas Cains, age seventeen, height about 5 ft. 10 in., farm labourer and shearer, native of New Zealand, fair complexion, light-brown hair, large blue eyes.
