PERSONS WANTED.

Kawakawa. —7th instant, that she may be compelled to maintain her illegitimate child, Annie Pringle, age about twenty-four, height about 5 ft. 5 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair. Inquiry by H. C. Blundell, Secretary of North Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

Tb Kuiti —3oth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £6 13s. fine and co-ts for a breach of the Licensing Act, Boodha Hira, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of India, medium build, dark complexion, black hair and eyes; usually dressed in a dark sac suit and dark-felt hat; speaks broken English. Napier,—-22nd ultimo, on warrant for theft of a bicycle (recovered), value £5, the property of Patrick B. Desmond, clerk, Thomas Sheehan, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, medium build, fair complexion, hair, and moustache ; usually dressed in a grey suit. The bicycle was sold to a dealer for £3 by a man who gave the above name. (This is inserted in lieu of the paragraph appearing on page 69 of this Gazette.)

Napier.—l7th May last, that he may be located and interviewed regarding a certificate of enrolment under the Military Service Act, John McMullins, alias James Frederick McMullen, age forty-one, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eye«, scar on left wrist and below right knee. Welli? gton.—6th instant, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Waimate,” A. Levensen, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., pantryman, native of England, slim build, pale complexion, red hair.

Wellington.—6th instant, on warrant for deserting from .lie s.s. “Waimate,” Henry Stanley Twinn, age twenty, height 5 ft., seaman, native of England, slim build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes.

Auckland.—9th instant, that a summons for illegally shouting may be served upon him, Michael James Mcdermott, alias Michael John McDermott, age fortyeight, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, (See Police Gazette, 1916, page 39.)

Wellington.—6th instant, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Waimate,” John McDonough, age twentyfour, height 5 ft. 3in., s'oulleryman, native of England, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes.

Wellington. —sth instant. Inquiry is requested to ascertain the whereabouts of Sam Sueffe, age about twenty - five, height about 5 ft. 7 in., seaman, native of Russia, fair complexion, ginger hair and moustache, sharp features, bracelet on wrist; usually dressed in a corduroy suit and cap. He was last heard of at Lyttelton on the 2nd December, 1916, where he was paid off the barque “ Raupo.” If located, a communication is to be sent to the Commissioner of Police, Wellington.

Wellington. —3oth ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “ Rotorua,” W. D. Chalmers, age twentythree, height 5 ft. 10 in., native of England, medium build, fair hair and complexion.

Wellington. —3oth ultimo, on warrant for deserting from the s.s. “Rotorua,” P. Glen, age nineteen, height 5 ft. 6in., steward, na'ive of England, medium buiid, dark hair and complexion.

Greymouth. —7th instant, that a notice under section 35 of the Military Service Act may be served upon him, Peter Higgins, age thirty-three, height 6 ft., labourer and sawmi 1 tiand, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved ; usually dressed in a blue-serge suit and soft-felt hat; erect gait.

Kumara. —sth instant, that a notioe under section 35 of the Military Service Act may be served upon him, James Malcolm Albert Pierson, age thirty-eight, height about sft. Bin., labourer and fisherman, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark hair and complexion, blue eyes, dark moustache; usually dressed in a dark suit and soft-felt hat ; sullen appearance ; fond of drink.

Otira. 29th October last, that a distress warrant for 13s. fine and costs for being illegally on licensed premises may be executed upon his effects, James Bohn, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. Bin., labourer, native of Ireland, medium, build, fresh complexion, brown hair; usually dresse t in a blue or black suit and black soft-felt hat; sullen appearance. Ashburton. —l7th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for twenty-four hours in default of paying 10s. fine and costs for drunkenness, Ernest Green, alias Thomas O’Keefe, alias William Reid, &c., age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 9in., labourer, native of Australia, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes; clasped hands, flags, heart, “True Love, Egypt;, 1915,” on right forearm, heart on left forearm; operation-scar on abdomen. Dunedin.— 2Bth ultimo, on warrant for unlawfully landing in New Zealand, John Cooper, age about twentyfive, seaman, native of America, slight build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, two wrinkles above mouth, profusely tattooed on arms ; usually dressed in a blue-serge suit, dark-green soft-felt hat, and tan boots, and wears a gold watch-chain. Accused, who was a quartermaster on the s.s. “ Florence Luekenbach,” landed at Dunedin without being in possession of a passport, as required under seotion 7 of the War Regulations made on 21st August, 1916.
