Auckland.—22nd ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance ordor for the sup port of his illegitimate child, Arthur Michael Conza, age thirty-three, height 6 ft., cab-driver, native of Australia, good build, fresh complexion, black hair, hazel eyes, large nose, scar on left palm. Arrears to 31st ultimo, £4 10s. (See Police Gazette, 1913, page 467.)

Auckland. —15th ultimo, on warrant for forgery and uttering, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 2 in., labourer, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair ; dressed in a dark suit and hard black hat. He is supposed to be identical with George Maxwell, alias Dittmar, alias Nelson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1916, page 358. Accused forged the name of E. Lewis to a cheque for £3, drawn on the bank of New South Wales, Auckland, in favour of H. Weir, and uttered it to William George Lange, tailor, Victoria Street.

He may be accompanied by Ella Hilderbrand, age about twenty-eight, height about sft. 7 in., waitress, native of New Zealand, medium build, pale complexion, dark hair, large staring brown eyes; usually dressed in dark clothes, and often wears a knitted brown woollen coat. Taumarunui.— 3rd ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Frank Anderson, alias Martin, alias Stayner, alias Marshall, age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., ex soldier, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair; dressed in military uniform, putties, and servioe cap. Accused obtained the sum of £4 from Cecil Rule, farmer, Otunui, while in Wellington, by means of a valueless cheque for that amount on the Bank of New Zealand, purporting to be drawn by Harry Church, Taumarunui. He is probably identical with F. Stayner, alias Frank Martin, alias Frank Anderson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1916, page 358.

Tokaanu. —l2th ultimo, on warrant for attempted rape on Hari Marau, Egbert Ronga Rogers, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., sawmill and flax-mill hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion ; dressed in grey riding-pants and tan leggings, brown coat, and vest; a half-caste Maori.

Stratford. —26th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Mary Veronica Kartwright, David Henry Kartwright, age thirty-two, height about sft. 6 in., labourer and seaman, medium build, dark hair and complexion, blue eyes, scar on right cheek. Arrears to 28th ultimo, £5.

Napier. —3oth ultimo, that affiliation proceedings may be instituted against him for the maintenance of his illegitimate child, Robert Dudley Morrison, an inmate of the Wellineton Receiving Home, George Rashleigh. age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 3 in., painter, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, dark sunken eyes, thin drawn features; a good amateur photographer.

Wellington.— lßth ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Wellington Prison for (1) fourteen days in default of paying £2 3s. fine and costs for a grossly indecent act, and (2) forty-eight hours in default of paying 13s. fine and costs for drunkenness, John Joseph Landers, age. thirtythree, height 5 ft. 2 in., slaughterman, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, dark hair, blue eyes. (£1 6-'. 6d. on each), fines and costs for playing cards for money, William Goodwin, age thirty, heigh 5 ft. 9 in., shearer, native of Australia, medium build, fair hair and complexion, small blue eyes ; usually dressed in a fashionable brown suit, brown-felt hat, and patent boots ; hangs head when walking; speaks quickly; frequents race meetings. He has a permit to leave this Dominion, and may endeavour to get away. He may be accompanied by Albert Ryan and George Robert Brown.
