Auckland. —20th ultimo, for assaulting Emily Spear with intent to commit a crime, Man (name unknown), age about thirtv, height about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, dark hair and complexion. About 9 p.m. complainant was walking along Brighton Road, at Newmarket, when she was assaulted by accused. No warrant.

Auckland. —3oth ultimo, on warrant for obscenely exposing himself in Old Wit ds' r Road. Avondale, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-two, height about 5 ft. 3 in., medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, long chin, hunch-backed; dressed in a brown or greyishbrown tweed suit with stripes, and brown-tweed cap. Complainant, Mary Campbell, Avondale.

Auckland.— George Snow, horse-stealing: It has now been ascertained by the Auckland police that Robert Barker, alias Adair, &c., is not identical with accused. The photograph of John Winslade, alias Williams, referred to in Police Gazette, 1915, page 444, and Photographs, 1910, page 22, has been identified as the man who railed the horses from Huntly on the morning of tbe 21st ultimo, and affixed the signature “ George Snow ” to the consignment-note. Hamilton.—On or about the 30:h September last, on warrant for theft of a horse (rec vereh), value £lB, the property of William Leask, John Winslade, alias Williams, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer, native of Engand, medium build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, boil-mark on left forearm. Accused, who assumed the name J. Williamson, sold the horse at Buckland and Sons’ saleyard on the 2nd ultimo. Newton.— On or about the 25fch August last, on warrant for stealing from the dwelling of Oscar Lorenzen, 74 Haslett Street, a lady’s ring (recovered), value £4, Norman D. Morrison, age thirty two, height 5 ft. 4 in., labourer and baker, native of New Zealand, stout build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, heavy eyebrows, thick lips, short neck. He is supposed to be identical with Norman Morrison, alias Wrack, referred to in Police Gazette, 1904, page 335. (See following paragraph.)

Paeroa. —2nd instant, for theft of £1 the property of Peter Lynch, ss. 4d., the property of John Kingham, £4 10s. tbe property of March Anderson, and 19s. 6d. tbe property of James Bascombe, Man (name unknown), age about forty-five, height about 5 ft. 2 in., medium build, fresh complexion, grey hair; dressed in a dark-grey suit and black hard hat. No warrant.

Gisbobne. —4th instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Eugene Dominic McCarthy, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, anchor on left forearm, mole on right cheek. Napieb. —2Bth September last, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for fourteen days in default of paying £5 10s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, Albert Illman, alias Hillman, age fifty-two, height 5 ft. If in., plasterer, native of Australia, medium build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on forehead and nose, “ E. 1.” on left forearm. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 696.)

Wellington.—2Bth ultimo, that a summons for hawking without a license may be served upon him, William Tracey, age about nineteen, height about 5 ft. 3m., hawktr, native of New Zealand, thin build, pale complexion ; usually dressed in a grey-tweed suit; very talkative.

Wellington. —l4th ultimo, that she may be compelled to maintain her child, an inmate of the Wellington Receiving Home, Margaret McKeowen, age about twenty-eight, height about 5 ft. 5 in., barmaid and waitress, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes. Inquiry is at the instance of the Education Department.

Wellington.— 2lst ultimo, on warrant for discharging arms at Stanley Sutton, Fort Ballance, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-three, height about 6 ft. lin., strong build, dark sallow complexion, dark hair, round face, slightly foieign accent; well dressed in a dark suit and dark Trimy hat, and was wearing a gold curb chain; erect gait; Jewish appearance. Acoused called at tne Fire Commandant’s station, Fort Baliance, and endeavoured to elicit information regarding the guns from Stanley Sutton, a private who was on duty. On being ordered out by Sutton accused discharged a revolver at him.

Wellington. —6th instant, that he may be compelled to maintain his two children, inmates of the Wellington Receiving Home, George Pearce, age about fifty, seaman and wharf labourer, strong build. He may be identical with George Pearce, referred to in Police Gazette, 1913, page 509. Inquiry by the Education Department.

Gbanity. —26th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Westport Police-gaol for one month in default of paying £2 7s. fine and costs for using abusive language, John Donaldson, alias Holdstock, alias Granville, alias C. Jones, age twenty-three, height 5 ft. 9£in., labourer, native of England, brown hair, grey eyes, thick nose ; usually dressed in a brown suit and dark-grey soft-felt hat; slovenly gait. Lyttelton. —2nd instant, on warrant for failing to join his ship, the s.s. “ Turakina ” H. Bevans, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 7fin., fireman, native of England, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes ; walks with a stoop.
