PERSONS WANTED.

Maungaturoto.— Between the 30th June, 1914, and Ist May last, on warrant for committing incest with his sister, Mary Priscilla Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, age eighteen, height about 5 ft. sin., farm labourer, native of New Zealand, thin build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, small scar on right cheek, sharp features ; smart appearance. Queen Street Wharf (Auckland). —7th November, 1914, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £9 16s. balance of fine and costs for illegally betting, James Joseph Larney, age twentysix, height 5 ft. 6 in., cook, native of Scotland, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes.

Auckland. —Bth instant, that he may be compelled to pay £3 Os. 4d, arrears of maintenance due for the support of his daughter, an inmate of Auckland Industrial School, Alexander Simpson, age thirty-eight, height 5 ft. 6Jin., storeman, native of Australia, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, blue eyes, four moles on right forearm. Auckland. maintain his wife and two children, Claude Randolph Marmont, age twenty-eight, height about 5 ft. 5 in., bricklayer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, large decayed teeth, bow legs. He boasts of his ability as a pugilist. Complainant, Eileen Louisa Marmont, Kingsland.

Auckland. —20th ultimo, that a copy of a minute of order may be served upon him, Harry Johnson, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in., grocer’s assistant, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes.

Newton. —2Bth ultimo, on warrant for theft of a gentleman’s bicycle (recovered), value £lO 10s., the property of William Hoskin, Point Chevalier, George Jenkins (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-eight, height about 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, brown hair ; dressed in a grey-tweed suit and cap. He is supposed to be identical with John James Ross, alias James Palm, referred to in Police Gazette, 1915, page 485.)

Thames. —4th June last, on warrant of commitment to Thames Police-gaol for fourteen days in default of paying £2 3s. fine and costs for assault, Benjamin McCollum, age thirty-one, height sft. sfin., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, blue eyes, hunchbacked. Kawhia. —lst instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £SO 13s. fine and costs for keeping liquor for sale in a proclaimed area, Martin Mattson, age twenty-one, height 5 ft, 11 in., labourer, native of Sweden, stout build, fresh oomplexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, soar on nose.

Kawhia.— lst instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £SO 13s. fine and costs for keeping liquor for sale in a proclaimed area, Michael Lynch, age fifty-three, height 5 ft. 8J in., labourer, native of England, medium build, dark tanned complexion, black hair, brown eyes, thin features ; stooping gait.

Taumarunui. —9th instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £SO 6s. fine and costs for illegally keeping liquor for sale, Michael O’Brien, alias Crooked Mick, age thirtynine, height sft. 9jin., bootmaker, native of Australia, good build, fre-h complexion ; dark-brown hair, blue eyes, hooked nose, long features, abscess on left jaw, round shoulders. Taumarunui. —9th instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £SO 6s. fine and costs for sly-grog selling, John Holmes, alias Stretcher, age forty-one, height 6 ft. OJin., labourer, native of New Zealand, good build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes; usually dressed in a brown suit, soft shirt, felt hat, and brown boots ; walks with a stoop; slovenly appearance. Bin., bushman, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark hair and complexion, grey eyes. He may endeavour to leave the Dominion.

Taumarunui. —9th instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £SO 6s. fine and costs for illegally keeping liquor for sale, Oliver Ernest Patrick Pullen, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 9 in., bushman, native of Australia, stout build, dark complexion, dark curly hair, brown eyes. He is supposed to lie identical with Paddy Pullen, referred to in Police Gazette, 1913, page 354.

Napier. —lst June last, that he may be compelled to maintain his six children, inmates of the Wellington Receiving Home, William Gray, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair hair and complexion, grey eyes, Roman nose inclined to right, scar on nose and on right shin. Normanby. —lsth February last, that she may be compelled to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of her two children, inmates of the Wellington Receiving Home, Minnie Johanna Hawkins, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. sin., domestic, native of New Zealand, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair, brown eyes; lazy habits ; fond of drink.

Hastings — J. D. Goodwin, obtaining credit by fraud: Accused is probably identical with William Carter, alias Death, alias Barnaby, referred to in Police Gazette, 1914, page 353. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 580.)

Otaki. —l4th ultimo, on warrant for false pretences, Thomas McDonald, age twenty - seven, height about 5 ft. 10in., labourer, native of Tasmania, stout build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair. Accused obtained 10s. in cash and goods (value Bs.) from Howard Andrew, storekeeper, by falsely representing that he was working for Woods and Go., bush contractors, Manakau.

Wellington. —3rd instant, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife and child, William Ernest Raymond, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 11 in., flax-mill hand and exconstable, native of New Zealand, stout build, dark complexion, black hair, hazel eyes; smart appearance. Complainant, Irene Neville Raymond, 110 Clyde Quay. (See Police Gazette, 1913, page 60.)

Wellington. —24th July last, on warrant for theft of a gentleman’s overcoat (recovered), a gentleman’s open-face metal watch, and a small silver curb watoh-chain with a gilded coin in centre and two small keys at one end, total

value, £2 75., the property of Henry Evanston, Frederick Thomas Keeper, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. s£in., cook, native of New Zealand, dark-brown hair, large nose. (See Police Gazette, 1914, page 488, and Photographs, 1913, page 3.)

Westport. —3rd October, 1913, that he may be compelled to maintain G. and D. Smith, inmates of the Wellington Receiving Home, George Henry Watson, age forty-five, height about 5 ft. 9 in., carpenter and station hand, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, long nose ; fond of drink.

Westport.— 9th instant, that he may be compelled to maintain his illegitimate child, Mary Reardon, an inmate of St. Mary’s Industrial School, Nelson, William Cole, age sixty-nine, height 5 ft. Of in., miner, native of England, ruddy complexion, grey hair, large nose. (See Police Gazette, 1905, page 57 ; 1908, page 510 ; and 1910, page 424.)

Christchurch. — George Olliver, default of fines and costs : It has been ascertained by the Christchurch police that his correct name is George Oliver. (See Police Gazette, 1915, page 536.)

Ashburton. —24th March last, that he may be compelled to maintain his child, an inmate of the Wellington Receiving Home, Henry Hake, age fifty-two, height 5 ft. 4f in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair turning grey, grey eyes, broad nose, soar on left arm, scald-mark on left instep. Timaru.—2nd instant, on warrant for theft of a quantity of fat (recovered), value £2 15s. 7d., the property of Humphrey Geaney, butcher, Benjamin Fox, age thirty-eight, height sft. 8 in., labourer and butcher, native of New Zealand, medium build, sallow complexion, dark-brown hair. There are other charges pending.

Invercargill-— loth instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of bis illegitimate child, George Francis Healey, age twenty-eight, height 5 ft.
