Auckland.—llt.h instant, from a dwelling in Manakau Road, the property of AMELIA SYMS, a gold double bar brooch with small knobs at each end of bars and a swan in centre, “A. Syms ”on front ; value, £6. Identifiable.
Morrinsville. —Between the 7th and 9th instant, from a farm at Hinuera, the property of ROBERT FRANCIS SEARLE, fourteen two-year-old steers, and eleven two-year-old heifers, Shorthorn and Jersey-Shorthorn breeds. Some of the cattle are branded Y on right rump and a square piece out of right ear ; value, £125. Identifiable.
Huntly.—l7th ultimo, from Mrs. Dufty’s boardinghouse, the propfrty of HERBERT BIRKETT, Auckland, a gentleman’s 18 ct. gold ring, claw-set wiih a diamond, “412” stamped on it; value, £2B. Identifiable.
Gisborne. —30fch June last, from the British Empire Stabf s, the property of T. N. HOGG, a rug with “T. N. Hogg” on it, pale-green and fawn plaid on one side and fawn on the other ; value, £2 10s. Identifiable.
Hastings.— 3rd instant, from a motor-car, the property of S. J. GOULTER, Clive, a gentleman’s grey-tweed overcoat, with “ Parker, Maker, Napier,” on lining and “S. J. Goulter ” inside pocket; and a pair of gloves: total value, £5. Identifiable.
Masterton. —Between the Ist and 20th ultimo, from a farm at Kaituna, a blue dehorned cow, branded “ S.S.” on rump, and a red dehorned cow with tip of off ear missing, value £2B, identifiable, the property of J. HOLDER ; two black dehorned cows, branded “ W.Z.” on near rump, value £22, identifiable, the property of W. ZiABEL, and a black-and-white cow and a red cow, value £2O, identifiable, the property of S. SWAN.
Otaki. —Bth ultimo, from the main road, Waikanae, the property of W. B. ASKEM, a gentleman’s black-enamelled bicycle, No. 7826, turned-up handles with white grips, rattrap pedals ; value, £4 10s. Identifiable.
Christchurch. —On or about the 10th instant Dr. JOHN CHRISTOPHER BRADSHAW’S motor-shed was broken into, and a Douglas motor-cycle stolen therefrom. Description : Engine No. 12192, frame No. 11781, registered No. 6968, two-speed, free engine, 1913 model, large Miller lamp, Jones speedometer, watch-case on handle-bar ; value, £7O. Identifiable.
Waikari.— AUGUSTAVE MUELLER’S dwelling broken into : The Winchester rifle has been found : not stolen. (See Police Gazette, 1915, pages 418 and 538.)
Temuka. —Between the 19th June last and the 31st ultimo, from a hut, the property of JOSEPH BERRY, Milford, three £2O notes, one £lO note, and one £5 note; total value, £75. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Alexander Hunt, age about forty, height about 5 ft. 4 in., labourer and baker, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes.
Dunedin.— 2oth ultimo, from George Street, the property of WILLIAM JAMES MASON, a gentleman’s blackenamelled free-wbeei Swift bicycle, 24in. frame, No. 2552, upturned handles (no grips), back-pedalling brake ; value, £6. Identifiable.
